Collecting information about the italian 381/50 OTO/ANSALDO cannon

R.I.P.
I guess RoF will remain shit as well…

I think we already know how they’ll treat all our suggestions about the Littorios in the Br change.

They must be real powerhouses in their data sheets.

Just to add one more thing.
I don’t know if everybody here played naval from the start but the misinformation battle around italian naval guns is old like the mode itself.
For those who can remember all 203mm OTO guns had this dispersion for a long time:

Spoiler

It was claimed to be “historically accurate” while everyone was laughing and making memes around these images.
Now they standardaized light and heavy cruisers dispersion, making cruisers like the Bolzano one of the most hard hitting ships at its Br.

The same thing is happening with BBs in multiple ways and will be like this untill they’ll normalize the dispersion of all big guns to create some sort of balance.
Untill then we’ll have the same meme machine generator like it was with the Zara years ago.

Yeah, I remember that XD

That’s… That’s not how dispersion works in real life.

Well actually to me, with high penetration and decent speed/fuze time, 381/50 guns dispersion ingame has pros and cons, and while smaller than real life, is not a big matter.

The biggest matter is of course, of reload time

Well…in the end nothing changed for naval, no mention of the extreme compression at low tier ( for coastal ) or the clear struggle that some ships face at the top with slow reloads compared to other nation counterparts.

Even the old FV4005 got a reload buff because having such a slow reload compared to other heavies from other nations was really a massive handicap and now is more in line with them ( 25s against the 20s for the IS family or the 23-18s for the american heavy T series).

If only this can be applied even for the american standard BBs and the Littorios ( especially as we given them proof that both can reload quicker than the ones in game).

Will be unable if bluewater starts at 3.3… already some bluewater 3.3 are stronger than coastal 4.0

Bluewater starting at 1.0 would be downright hilarious.

Please Gaijin, make this a thing for one week just to see the salt.

Were you around for naval beta and before the coastal and blue water trees were split? Those were interesting times.

I remember literally having to take a break after 2 matches during naval beta as the sea was always so strong that your little boat was on the verge of drowning every few seconds ( and the camera was umbearable).

There was also the time when artillery launched boats of the water making them do barrer rolls like what napalm bombs do now on ground matches.

Compression was still a problem, but we had less ships and boats so it was a bit better.

If they want to really do something about general compression they should block the Br of planes that you can bring to something like 9.3 and then free all other ships.
That way DDs could start somewhere aroung 4.0, leaving alone those 2.3 boats with only a pair of 20mm or a single 40mm that can do nothing against them, maybe leaving some space for initial coastal decompression.

Playing Japanese river gunboat was quite funny)

I don’t remember honestly much difference, but boats were as hard to grind with horizontal progression as they are now, although they were lower ranks. I was kinda disappointed when we didn’t get crossresearching capabilities for boats and ships.
I didn’t participate in beta test though apart from short sessions with Italian and British vessels.
Italians had MS-74A, Soldati and Colleoni.

Soooo…the Littorios just plummeted under the 47% win rate treshold in Arcade after the new statshark update and the only thing I can think of is:

Spoiler

This text will be hidden

But don’t worry, everything is fine, nothing to change as everyone is having fun with basically a guaranteed loss every time you play one of these ships.
Also let’s not forget that they have also the least amount of SL and RP per game, so you’re stuck in your stock configuration longer than any other ship.

Peak balance.

Jokes aside, I really hope they wake up and standardize at least the reload rate.
I can’t make any more reports because I’ve exausted all sources known by now ( authors, books, translated manuals ) that proves that the Littorios could reach a 30.8s reload during trials.

Statistics are the only ones left and they’re proving my point more and more as time passes.
Let’s just hope that someone really speaks up and take action.
