CM Covert Disclosures No.4: Information & Q&A with War Thunder Game Director, Viacheslav Bulannikov!
This is at perfect conditions, which currently the su27 isn’t capable of sustaining past a single turn. After 1 turn it is marginally above stall speed.
What? I have 270 on the f15c…
The f15E has even more flares…
“F-15E performing that way is in perfect conditions.”
Who cares about your moving the goalposts? It’s an indication on which is the better dogfighter, and Su-27 is.
And no, F-15s double flare drop, Su-27 single flare drops on top of being large caliber which are more potent than 2 standard flares.
This just blatantly disregards actual in game combat dynamics. Nothing is ever under perfect conditions, and more conditions favor either f15 over the su27.
You know you can set it to single right? And they work just as well as large caliber 🤣 (I have both and fly both every day, I have found there to be NO difference at 13.7 between large and small caliber, I use 1-3 chaff to evade radar missiles, and the same with flares for IR missiles, sometimes I panic spam.)
Then don’t bring up the myth that is “perfect conditions”, or skill related matters like “What if a player pulls full! What if they’re a bad player! What if the dogfight is just a giant skill issue!”
Then the F-15 won against an inferior opponent due to having better skill and it doesn’t matter.
F-15’s fuel amount is 16 minutes [50%] to be equal with Su-27’s minimum fuel amount BTW.
The Su-27’s rate with the same minimum fuel as F-15E is 19.6 degrees per second:
Yeah, but most powerful and famous US battleship would be gulf war Iowa class
BTW…
You trying to convince us that soviets isn’t good enough while they have best dogfight missile in the game.
Where the hell AIM-9X then?!?!?!?
USA don’t need better missiles.
Especially not anything with thermal imaging seeker.
And dogfights missiles are completley useless when dogfights basically never happens. R73 is also defeated by simply preflaring btw.
And why is that?
Because they have the best planes, the best radar, and currently also the best weapons.
Most people can’t do that. And the R-73, when it’s not gyro-ing out of control is good at exactly that shot because the dispersal pattern of the flares is insufficient, the path of the enemy aircraft is slow and linear, and the engagement distance is so tight that the seeker will finally ignore the flares, unlike the AIM-9M with it’s gated seeker that is basically easy-mode the IR missile.
Are crates coming back this update?
@magazine2 hi, thanks for the article and all the info. I would like to ask you if there is some info regarding new game modes. In my personal opinion that is the greatest problem with the game. After several years of playing capture the flag and team death match I’ve honestly lost a lot of interest in the game outside of sim gamemodes. Yeah new vehicles are sometimes interesting but honestly the lack of game modes is becoming a critical issue for both air and ground.
I would agree with getting the 9X. The R-73 is nuts in regards to what it can pull and doesnt fall for flares as easy as some people are claiming.
Does the US really need an advantage in every single situation tho?
idk thats way too much for game rn.
in the future our advantage will be radar, EW and our air to ground payload, with solid but not the best a2a missiles.
How is it too much? Its an inevitably and not saying the newest generation needs to come right now.
its effectively a death sentence to anything within its range, its way ahead of anything in game right now
maybe soon if they add it to some garbage slow attack aircraft like A-10, but in any other way, no
No different than the R-73 right now. Or the 9M really. Or Magic 2.
That’s arguably worse since they will be at a BR well below where they should be, just look at the A-10 on release and you’ll see.
