Christmas and New Year’s Gifts Await You in the Winter Concert Event!

youre from one of the colonies we know.

A colony that kicked your ass twice then saved your ass twice lol
But while I know nationalist zealousy is your bread and butter we’re here to talk War Thunder, not politics

I am. But I don’t really like football as well. I like to read books. Especially about fallen Empires of the past.

Hopefully it will get changed, the modelled vehicle is not the Block 2 that is currently in service with the Australian Army. It’s the trials vehicle used for the Land 400 program.

Five-turret battleship? Seems another easy cash for naval players that will sell the vehicle, these tend to get high price very easily, MiG-25PD is very interesting, hopefully at some point we have tech tree counterpart and maybe MiG-31 as top tier Russian strike aircraft. The Boxer in my opinion is kinda of unexpected, and unique, very cool design and whatnot, but given half British battle rating 10.7 ground vehicles is Squadron vehicle and Premium vehicle, I can’t unsee the vehicle being used in higher battle rating line-ups, call me crazy but Winter event vehicles are far more unique and enjoyable than regular event vehicle, even battlepass vehicles tend to be more interesting some times.

You are aware that a number of features on the Block 2 CRV were co-developed with Australia, and Australia builds them as well, including building them FOR the German army?

Anyone else find this underwhelming?

You fool! Everyone knows you can’t spend time with your family over Christmas! There are War Thunder events to grind that will require hours/day.

Not at all, I am very happy to get an Australian Boxer CRV even if it’s the trials version and not an in service variant. It’s also in the right tech tree with all others bar one Australian vehicle.
The MiG-25 is also a very cool aircraft. Even if people feel it should be tech tree (there’s always MiG-31 later on).

When has Britain gotten the “best” of any other country? Like where is that? Britain is constantly on the back-foot when it comes to their contemporaries ingame. We USED to have one really strong 9.7 tank, the FV4030/3. Then it got uptiered to 10.0, where it is now just a mediocre Challenger 1 and you don’t see them get played, meanwhile other strong performing for their BR tanks remain there for years.

Except for 10.3, 5.3 and 8.7. Britain has some of the worst performing SPAA for their BR on account of them being either overtiered or forced to operate in a BR they cannot operate effectively in anymore because of the BR gap (Britain lacks AA from 5.3 all the way up to 7.7. So you have to overwork the Bosvark in a BR bracket it has no business being in.), despite having strong wheeled tanks, and one strong auto-cannon wheeled vehicle (the Fox), britain lacks good autocannon vehicles. The incoming AJAX and Boxer CRV are going to be good additions to that pool.

Air is self explanatory. Britain has strong air planes from the Spitfires in 3.0 all the way to the Meteors in 7.7. The Canberra is a decent plane at 8.3 and Venom is over BR’d but still decent. However, from 8.7 all the way to 13.7, Britain has planes that are mediocre for their BRs. The Hunter F.6 is at 9.7 because of the SRAAMs, the Harriers are only good at base bombing, the Buccaneer has to compete with supersonics for bases and cannot defend itself, the Jaguars are trash, the F-111C lacks proper guided ordnance like Mavericks and is a big fat target making it easy to shoot down in CAS roles, something the Phantom should be decent at but the British Phantoms don’t even have guided ordnance (they’re at 10.7 GRB rating for a reason) and are the worst Phantoms in their BRs on account of having some of the worst air-to-air missiles in their BR brackets. The Tornado F.3 is mired by an absolutely horrendous flight model that needs an update and for the longest time whenever you asked someone how to grind Rank VII Britain, they said to just get the Mig-21 Bison and skip the rest up to the Gripen. I cannot comment on the Hornets but I don’t see many Australian Hornets when I fly the Tornado and Mig-21 Bison so I guess they aren’t doing too well either. The only Rank VII jets in Britain worth grinding are the Gripen, Eurofighter and the Australian Hornet at 14.0.

Because Gaijin over nerfed or simply just left British equipment underperforming and over BR’d, they are now forced to use subtrees to actually have competitive vehicles. Look at 10.7 for example. The best performing vehicles britain has at that tree are:
T-90 Bhishma, Vickers Mark 7 MBT, OSA AK, STRELA and now the Hawk 200 with four Mavs.

Now of those vehicles in the list, three of them are Indian vehicles and only two are British, and one wasn’t even meant for the British domestic market, it was meant for the export market which is why its a Vickers universal turret on a Leopard 2 chassis, so really only one, the Hawk 200, is a home grown British vehicle.

I have given up on asking Gaijin to add good British vehicles because they always manage to muck it up in some way and it results in the tree getting a mediocre at best vehicle always to be trashed on in maps it wasn’t designed for. I have higher hopes for the air tree at least, because with South African vehicles like our Mirage IIICZ and the Atlas Cheetah as well as the Atlas Impala we can supplement the swath of mediocre British jets with decent ones from South Africa at least.

The Gripen is in operation with South Africa, we were a commonwealth nation until the mid 2010s. We have one T-90 Bhishma which is a domestic Indian production of the T-90. We only have one “indian” jet which is the Mig-21 Bison. The Jaguar IS is French on account of it getting Magic Missiles.

As far as I am aware, the Germans didn’t use the Fox.
Germany never used the PGM 2000. It doesn’t make sense to give the Tornado IDS a weapon it didn’t use and as far as I could tell wasn’t wired up to use it anyways.

Ask the German Government why their weapons procurement sucks compared to their allies so you can have good weapons to use in your pixel tank game.

500k points for a cool wheeled thing?
Thank you Gaijin for being so generous with your point requirements (NOT sarcasm).

How the holy hell is that thing one of the best performers?

lmao

only Britain, Nigeria and Malawi have used the Fox.

they have Luchs anyway so they cant really whine about not having a wheeled autocanon scout for that BR area thats over BR

Ngl this is lowkey kinda buns

Welp I got to get the Aussie Boxer for a number of reasons. I could barely complete an air event at lower point requirement, and air is much easier to earn points in, so this is going to suck.

Now let’s hope Gaijin fixes the name before the event starts. So we can get the real CRV Block II down the line.

What BR were you doing friend? I often find that choosing a different BR range can help. And the “easier” BR “brackets” that I personally like tend to shift during events in my experience. For instance, I typically avoid top top Tier/BR normally, but especially during events. I/we might have some advice to hopefully make your grind a bit less difficult.

This year we gonna have more christmass style skins (like the tornado, a10 and su25 we got)? I was thinking of this abrams I found.

I tried to use the CF-188 to grind the pancake but it didn’t work out(a lot of games were I couldn’t do anything) before going back to WW2 BRs and alternating 4.7 and 5.7 (Wyvern and Prendergast’s Spitfire)

As for this event I don’t know what I’m going to do yet, I’m thinking US 7.7(my last full line-up for them) as I need to grind my US tree.
