the 99II and III had some sort of Laser protection system which isnt modelled in game if thats what u were thinking about
I must have missremeberd it, however here is what this does.
It is a light used for recognizing what tank it is during the night.
Chinese vehicles have a digital version of it

You might have confused it with the laser communication china was testing some time ago.
But that was not LRF IFF, but straight up LOS communication.

What’s the point of it though? Why not just have a built in data hivemind like what jets use, for example in the air you would have F35s as the all seers and coordinate with 4th Gens what to do and where to do it.
