Likely cause it wasn’t found in initial research.
Actually only the T-90M and T-80BVM, guy wanted to suggest “improvements” but the manual only mentions later modifications of the vehicles.

There are multiple documents available describing the Challenger 1’s turret armour and most of them list it as 430 mm KE, with a couple saying 480 mm KE. That document is pretty much the only one which says 500 mm KE.
