Right now damage is all over the place, even if the fuses work.
F.e. Soviet 14.5mm MGs are FAR more reliable in killing aircraft than 37mm even when it explodes, as it takes just a few 14.5mm bullets to completely demolish a plane and there’s plenty of areas where 37mm M-geschoss hit just turns the fuselage black and plane flies like nothing happened.

Chad Mineshell vs. realShatter HE
The game is basically evolving backwards at this point.
What were you discussing?

That is still the case - but i saw you use the C-3604. Try it in Air RB - perfect balancing tool for Yak & La-5 spam. It outturns every Yak or Lavotchkin and the 20 mms hit extremely hard. With MEC and proper flap usage u kill even Spits & Hurricanes - and ofc B7A2s 😎
Even if you wanna stay in Ground RB: Way better than get frustrated by not working SPAAs - create a custom loadout without external loads and use air target belts - the SP should not be that high…
Have a good one!
I did. It’s fun, I usually got them in stall shots as it has Ho-229 vibes and people rolling all over the place are.sometimes hard to follow.
It kills tanks like crazy.
Generally, a very fun experience, it’ll end up 0.7-1 BR higher than it currently is eventually, though German 2.7-3.3 teams are so bad, who knows…
But you know what, Ground RB players are bad enough I’m literally outdogfighting A6M2.in Bf 109 F2 (they had brown camo and I thought I’m fighting some funny low tier US plane lol) and Me-410 with 1000kg bombs on board scores me surprising amount of killls. It has enough armanent that something eventually lands regardless of broken game.
Broken HE damage and fuses. To be precise, 37mm M-geschoss failing to seriously damage CW-21 with 2 hits and failing to seriously damage SB2Cs engine with a direct hit at low range from the front.
Lmao👍
Fun: Yes - but you are forced to carry way more than 50% of your matches - the game play is centered around head-ons in which the 0.50 cal opposition together with the fellow ShVak users have clear range and damage superiority - at least vs the standard 109s and the 3.0 190. As i still deny head-ons i am forced to turn/energy fight everything…
I would have no issue with a higher BR (ofc with an upgrade to Rank III and transferring it to the strike fighter line) but German teams have a pretty hard time even up to BR 3.7.
Either they get swarmed by hordes of A-36s in the climbing phase - or they face 5 MiG-3s (ofc some with 2 x 20mm ShVak) pushing them low. And if they survive that they face Ki-44s, Yak-1 Bs or Ki-43s. All with one tap potential…
You need to be really good to survive in such an environment as the few good pilots in 109 F-2s or 190 A-2s are usually outnumbered like hell.
So i won’t claim that they are worse than their opponents - they are just not really suited for this low alt bar fight environment…
I love the 3.3 410 A-1 - great plane climbs like a rocket (without bombs) and works extremely nice vs low tier Spits and P-39s (not the Q) above 5 km 😂
Saw this afternoon a guy from the ENSO squad scoring 6 kills in the 4.3 version - lmao
Months pass, no fix to this trivial (just set the skin thickness on plywood planes higher!!!) yet game breaking issue in sight. Gj Gaijin.
Sad to see it man.
Guns are in a terrible state atm, too inconsistent, sparks that make no sense, passing thru fuselages, too rng… just unfortunate.
I gave up reporting it cuz every report related to guns is being labeled as a duplicate right now. I wouldn’t mind that if they kept us updated on the main report… but that’s not the case either.
crazy
Yeah, it’s bad in general. F.e. real-sh*tter (ground-based, aircraft still have good old hard hitting cannon I think) MK103 deals basically same damage as Soviet 25mm HE which has like 3 times smaller filler and 33% less weight and both are barely better with damage per hit than 23mm or even 20mm.
As a result I scored several HE (and HVAP, but these are less important) hits on G4M1 using Kugelblitz and it was flying absolutely fine. Non-real shatter MK103.with the same shot placement would have shredded the pilot and rip a wing off, or at least set something on fire and damage the engines.
Edit: for any kind of reliability, 4 30mm are needed. But with 4 20mm things also die instantly, so basically Zerstorer 45 is a bit longer-ranged Wirbel (when facing planes) but with no armor.
Dual high velocity 20mms you can find around 6.0 deal more damage, fire faster and are generally greatly superior.
Is Gaijin tweaking the values here or is my game freaking out??
I remember that Mineshells and the rest of the 20mms HE would never fuze on La’s or Yak’s. Now for whatever reason it’s flicking nonstop but it will fuze every now and then.
@Loofah is your P.A displaying the same thing?
Yup, it’s flashing like it wants to give me a seizure. Noticed it recently, but when I tested 5 shots, nothing fused, so I decided it’s probably protection analysis corpse slowly decomposing.
It’s interesting, looks like some failed new RNG. :D
You should report it with that video to highlight the issue, as that could be the real problem with it.
I also had this happen when I tried it on the K-4.
I suspect they’ll just fix protection analysis, as shells not fusing is clearly intentional at this point.
La-5/7 and Yaks were making MG151/20 (and every other gun with over 0.25mm fuse sensitivity) spark 10 years ago, but I was able to confirm it only when they updated PA so you could choose 1 specific shell from the belt instead of highest pen one.
Then it took them years to fix it. Then after 1,5 years they reintroduce a bug, but now it’s way worse and are shutting down reports since May this year.
Does it sound like something “accidental”?
And I remember one of the mods literally telling me, it’s all about the thickness of plywood - all plywood in game has the same thickness value, and all they have to do, is adjust 1 parameter. But they are refusing to do it, because probably Soviet props tanking HE like there’s no tomorrow is too hilarious for devs to fix.
Literally most of my kills vs Yak-9k are engine fires and pilot snipes. Dude gets shot with a decent burst and all I get is a coolant leak because 5 out of 6 HE shells to his right wing fail to fuse.
Because it’s only happening to that vehicle suggests something is up with that vehicle.
If it were protection analysis being the issue it’d show on others more reliably.
Report it with the video, and see what other vehicles are sharing the symptom.
Every single plywood covered plane would be my guess.
So Soviets, Mosquito, and partially K4 and He-162.
Random 33% chance of shell fusing is way better than 0% chance we had.
