Ch’ŏnma-2 (2024) – The Actual Production Version (Probably)

The pinnacle of DPRK armor and a fitting top-tier tank for a United Korean tree or a DPRK sub-tree. Either would be fine with me; I just want this in the game! +1

Is it possible that it will have some kind of semi-automatic loader? Considering the weight and large size of the 125mm shells, manpower loading was almost impossible. A reload time of 10-12 seconds can be a fatal drawback in the game. I’m guessing it’s going to have an auxiliary semi-automatic loader, so the reload time might be around 8 seconds - although I don’t have proof. North Korean tanks are too difficult to find.

Who knows. It’s possible but I don’t know just how likely. 10-12s was just an estimate from me, no other country has had manually-loaded 125mm cannons, so I don’t have anything to base it on. The Sŏn’gun-915 also has a manually loaded 125mm, but again, no clues about whether it’s semi-autoloaded.

The only clue suggesting it is fully manually loaded is the development of one-piece 125mm ammunition, which would render a semi-autoloader somewhat unnecesary. This would cut down on the loading time, perhaps even to 6-7s (another guess), especially if 120mm ammunition can get down to 5s (in-game).

And I also estimated 10-12s before the one piece ammo was revealed.

Reload time is a balancing act.
I remember someone analyzed the design of the Merkava 4 ammunition rack. It is theoretically impossible to compress the reload time to less than 5 seconds unless you have four arms.

+1 for China’s NK sub tree… Korean tree would be a copypasted mess

+1 for the United Korean Tree.

It would not be any different from the Chinese/Israeli Tree.

Thank you!

As GildyMenn said, it wouldn’t be that. I did a rough count of my proposal and there’s about 22 copy-paste vehicles, so 20%, give or take. Far, far better than Israel (12/49, 25%) and China (34/84, 40%).

current China and Israel indeed, but the reworked Israeli sub tree proposed by ofekk and other guys makes it so much better, and it’s pretty fair to compare not-yet-introduced trees

and gaijin could make at least tier 1 and tier 2 of China less copypasted with Chi-Ha SPG and M10 Type 91…

I’m not disagreeing with you but we all know how the United Korea tree would be implemented. Gaijin would put in a bunch of copy-paste vehicles and very slowly add in unique vehicles.

+1 for a United Korea Tree!

Some more, very clear images of the vehicle with DPRK Leader Kim Jong Un inspecting the manufacturing process. Clearly seen is the quad-launcher hard-kill APS, the RADAR’s integrated in the turret cheeks, the dual-Bulsae ATGM launcher, an RCWS, ERA on the sides, CITV for the Commander, and cage armor on the rear of the turret and by the engine compartment. Revolutionary design for the DPRK military however, it’s unknown what type of loading system this vehicle uses either hand-held loading or an autoloader. Handheld loading would make things difficult due to the use of two-piece ammunition for the 125mm gun unless unitary rounds are developed.

Actually +1 on this, starting to take shape and not just look like fake tank with sheet metal plastered ontop. Can clearly see the add on armor with the bolts and stuff, would be curious to see the purely welded version or whatever it is, if it is a T-62 derivative like normal or something new like claimed. Either way looking better

Looks like a bit of them made, probably low-rate production and another image of it in the background. In the front are its roadwheels.

I cannot confirm, nor is the text large enough for Google Translate to, but apparently the signpost in this photo specifies this to be the Ch’ŏnma-3?
