Centauro I 120 SQUADRON vehicle for the USSR tech tree

Considering very little else other then the general look and the fact it sports a 115mm gun taken from old T-62s are publicly known as far as i can tell, i don’t believe my conclusion to be unreasonable considering how recently the vehicle seems to have been manufactured, the availability of relatively cheap and powerful engine on the international market, the availablity of advanced munitions for the 115mm gun.

Unless you have more information about the vehicle that i am not privy to ofcourse and you’d care to share it?

Either way none of that changes anything, the BTR-115 could be worse compared to the GAZ-AAA(4M) for all i care and i would still not support the addition of a Centauro I 120 to the Soviet tech tree.

It doesn’t offer anything unique and it doesn’t offer much needed and lacking capability either so i see no reason for it.

The other vehicles i mentioned however, the 2S14, BTR-100 and BTR-115 all offer something unique at the very least.

As I said…BTR-100 is meh but BTR-115 looks like as pretty viable option instead of Centauro 105 or maybe even 120 if it will get appropiate ammo.

There are some unconfirmed infomations that BTR-115 doesnt use APFSDS at all.

In that case, it is ruled out as an option.

So far 2S14 Zhalo looks as best option tbh. That thing with rapid-fire 85mm cannon (20-25 rounds per minute with automatic loading machine) with 3BM-31 APFSDS doesn’t look bad at all. I would say BR 9.3 stuff.

That vehicle isnt even stabilised.

And it doesnt have autoloader either. You can see the loader hatch with loaders MK4 like periscope.

If anything it would be comparable to israeli 8.0 M113 60mm based vehicle, especially given that it’s APFSDS is also expected to be just as shit.

The VCC80/60 was a demon at 9.0 bullying unstabilised Leopard 1’s and T-54’s. Meanwhile this will need a few second stop just to get it’s target in sight with mobility not really special in any way.

I haven’t conducted detailed research on the vehicle. I am simply repeating what was described in the suggestion thread for that vehicle. Aaand as I have limited info about this vehicle so you must show which hatch do you mean.

Even comparing this vehicle to the suggested vehicle is wrong, it wouldn’t cover the same battle rating or even have similar performance.

+1 I don’t mind at all. Will people actually use it? Probably not. But I would like to stay in priority that special USSR vehicle first.

What should’ve been suggested is the trialed Freccia for the fire and forget capability, that would probably get used since it’s literally the only vehicle that could go to the Soviet tree with a weapon like that.

It can be added instead of Centauro 105. That would be ± same BR if it have 20-25 rounds per minute. But yes. Not comparable to 120 one. There is nothing which can replace that one.

There’s no rules stopping them from doing so.
Those opposing the addition also won’t stop that.
