Gaijin had different standards about ground and air vehicles, we could easily see P43bis in the game as well as 44M TAS. Proposed tech tree didn’t consider modern stuff and mostly had unique vehicles and modifications.
I should say that I actually didn’t like that idea in the past, but helped @BlueBeta to suggest it to the Russian community.
On the other hand you probably know that now I’m absolutely fine with the addition of Hungary and propose the same for Romania, although I wish for all Italy, Hungary and Romania, there was more effort put into each nation and more of their ingenious designs were added.
PS there is actually one case of Hungarian tech taking place of the Italian one, when F-16ADF doesn’t get its actual weapons because there is already Hungarian Gripen, although I hope we will eventually get proper weapons for ADF.

From what I know, because they imagined Hungary would be added to put Soviet vehicles, and honestly I thought so too and still do given the situation of the Hungarian sub-tt.
Another reason in my opinion why hungary subtree isnt that well liked by italians is because with the way and timeline of implementation the hungarian top tier is completly overshadowing the italian part.
Arietes just cant hold up with the Leo 2a4 &Leo 2a7HU, the only bad one in the bunch is kf41 with the freccia being the better alternative.
Air doesnt look better with the Mig29 and Gripen c in the hungarian branch and the italian f-16 not getting access to its historical aim 120 and aim 9l(i).
overall the hungarian branch for not hardcore fans just seems more attractive at a glance and easier to grind trough then the italian native vehicles
of course i am, this is called resignation. I can’t do anything about it, it can’t disappear so i at least use them instead of looking at them in anger.
The point you are trying to make isn’t senseful at all.
I never said I suffer, i said the exact opposite. I try to enjoy them as much as i can regardless of the fact that i don’t like them being in my country’s techtree.
And trust me, unless i really want to try that vehicle regardless (example gripen, since i never touched sweden) i won’t use them.
Of course having vehicles from other trees in your own tree makes the grind easier, and i argue the fact that they shouldn’t have been in Italian techtree not because they are useless, but because they don’t belong here
This is obvious, but many people, including myself, would have preferred to see the original Hungarian vehicles first and the copy-paste afterwards, not the other way around.
I see it that way too. Since Gaijin already introduced this system, why not use it. Honestly, I would prefer to see every vehicle where it should realistically belong, but we are where we are.

When i was asked to build a “only Italian TT” the hungarians where taken away, because at that time it was needed a stand alone nation and this was done. But the project was just putted in a drawer waiting for a new life. When the sub-TT nations started to come out, like South Africa, the Hungarian stuff were ready. I know that many people don’t agree with this but, right now, it’s a good choice. It can be changed in future like it was done with China and Israel for example that were part of the USSR and USA TT.
