BTR-3E1: Eight Wheels of Fury

It doesn’t in the video here. I just hope this is outdated or will at least still be fixed before release. Same with the target tracking that was removed from the devserver.

Ukraine tank going to Japan . . . what universe is Warthunder even in at this point.

Thai tank going to Japan, this is the universe that we are in

*a tank that thailand bought at some point

0 historical relevance, 0 need in the TT itself, 0 sense behind its implementation. It’s almost as dumb as USA getting the skink.

Thailand is a subtree of Japan, and they operate this vehicle. Japan has lots of unique ww2 vehicles, but after that its quite scarce and definitely needs subtrees (japan, Indonesia and Malaysia are good fits due to being regional and having unque vehicles but not enough for full trees)

Japan is pretty fleshed out when it comes to light tanks at higher BRs. Where on Earth did Gajin get the idea that they need a BTR-3?

let me guess you want russia to have it

Are people brain dead Thailand uses tanks from various countries they lack domestic made tanks especially mbt’s so news flash the tanks aren’t thai you numpty’s, yeah a Ukrainian vehicle has been put in Japan now let’s all say this together, THAILAND OPERATES THEM how are you not understanding this? Be happy they’re even in the game through Thailand

Thailand operates over 4x as many BTR-3s as Ukraine

It was developed after the fall of the USSR in the 2000s. It’s not a USSR vehicle

Italy used more F-104s than America, does that make the unmodified F-104s sent to Italy Italian?

No, but it certainly makes them historically relevant, I quoted that part of the message for a reason. Thailand is literally the main operator of the BTR-3E1 variant, and uses them in active conflict.

It’s also only the second Thai ground vehicle at 9.0, one of three in a potential 9.3 Thai lineup, while also bringing beam riding ATGMs with on the move fire capability (once fixed) to a tree that doesn’t have those. And on top of that no other BTR-3 (in general, not just the E1) operator nation is in game aside from Thailand, making this the only current placement for this much requested unique vehicle.

Sure do hope that the missile drop after the ATGM was launched has been removed

Very cool! I wonder if we’ll see the rest of the Thai BTRs

I have to ask; where else would the BTR-3E1 go?

It isn’t a Russian vehicle. Nor a soviet vehicle. Ukraine doesn’t exist as a sub-tree, and if Thailand didn’t get the VT-4 because of Chinese opinion, then Russia certainly wouldn’t get Ukraine because of Ukrainian opinions. And before you say ‘well it was based off of XYZ’, I just want to say; the US doesn’t get the Gal-Batash/Magach series because they were based off of M60s. Or the Sabre Mk.6 based off of the actual Sabre, where the only real change was an Engine.

Clearly, people threw a stink when the US got the Skink (haha rhyme is my game and Vince is my name) because it was based off the M3 chassis. They also were very against the Ram II in the US for the same reason.

So again, all that in mind, where would it go other than Thailand? In my eyes, and clearly many others, Thailand was the best location for it to go.

A much needed Thai/Ukraine addition, hopefully we get the BTR-3RK soon. Not to mention, this thing will be way deadlier once it receives its fire on the move ATGM capability.

Australia and Canada aren’t subtrees either, but we have vehicles from both in various nations.

BTR-3, if anything prolly shoulda been an event vehicle. Simply a cool novelty that doesn’t necessarily serve to fill any gaps.

no . . .
