I mean if you don’t know what your doing yeah but it should still out fight most things that aren’t a F-16A and mirage 4000
Oh yeah for sure, like you won’t be losing to a lot and the things you do out-dogfight you can mostly beat in terms of armament, and for the Gripen, pilot skill will probably matter a lot more than the opponent in these fights.

After playing the Hunter, Jaguar and basically everything past rank 5 I can confidently say we will manage to adapt. There isn’t a single good fighter after the Swift F.7 IMO.
Little bit of cope mixed in here but i’m sure you get my point.

Just got to remember to set up the controls to be able to turn an aircraft now. So far i’ve only got throttle and pitch mapped (JK)

Yeah they are good, I need to learn how to fly them in SB at some point, they are apprently the hardest fighter to fly in SB at the moment.

I can’t speak for sim but I will die on the hill that the Spitfire is the best dogfighter of WW2.

I can attest to that. I’m not a good SIM pilot by a long shot but it is really hard to fly. It’s really easy to leave controlled flight even if you’re careful.

New FM does look good, Much more like i’ve seen IRL Also looks less likely to insta G-lock which is always a good thing. Lets just hope the SAAF Gripen C doesnt have some kind of nerf to it
Tho it can’t do the low speed flippity floppit anymore which is sad

Tbf the British air tree incredibly competitive for a very long time through out the history of the game but then the FGR.2 got power crept and it hasn’t been since lol

Perhaps, although that was before my time, I hear the Hunter was a beast although i struggle to imagine how.
I just think their choice of vehicles is often times poor. Like the first hunter would’ve been much better as the f.4 and then the f.6 with sraams so its br is somewhere where its flight performance cannot account. Javelin could have been the Type 545 etcetera.
Although to some extent it is our fault for seemingly choosing the worst option to enter service (Hunter vs Gnat, Superswift vs Lightning etc).
Anyway enough of me malding, i’m just not particularly satisfied by the tree atm.
legit dont, its the hands down worse grind ive ever tried. i did it ages ago with the FG1 and that was alright back before it got PD but now i finally bothered to crew the FGR2 and play it. just bomb bases and dont bother with anything else you will be in a 12.3 game 70% of the time

Fair enough, at the moment for me it is the sheer lack of all-aspect capability, and because of the 9D’s I have to be right behind someone to get a launch. Hopefully the 9G’s can help with that a little.
Then I can start on the AIM-7E-2 and Skyflash and hopefully just grind immediately for the Gripen.
I might try the SQN harrier and see if it is any better.
I used the Sqn Harrier to grind out the remainder of top tier Britain. 4x 9Ls and enough bombs for a base make it a good grinder. I ended up putting a talisman on mine to improve RP gains.
