Britain Air Forces

What sucks even more is we’re now stuck with a Gripen A to spend hours upon hours on grinding and stock grinding only for it to become obsolete when we get the Gripen C.

I think it’s kinda silly that you guys are complaining when stuff isn’t final…

We’re complaining that Sweden isn’t receiving its flagship Gripen C when we haven’t had a new airframe for 2 years and been excluded from top tier this whole year pretty much.
smin said we are not getting our Gripen C despite UK getting it today - until next major update - 3+ months out.

Enemies making mistakes is how you get kills. That’s what it always boils down to.
Nobody would get kills if not a single player made mistakes. If everyone was playing their planes perfectly we wouldn’t be seeing people using anything but the MiG-29G and maybe the F-16C, just like in those boring tournaments.
There being better planes in the same bracket doesn’t mean the worse planes are not competitive.

I regularly get 5 kill games in it, only because people do stupid stuff and dumping missile into furballs, you just catagorically cannot control engaments with an enemy that knows you’re there

that’s my point though. if we judge how competitive a plane is based on what players do every match, that’d be stupid. you could have a situation where a plane that is performance wise not that good, could be very competitive because the players playing it are extremely good/the players it faces are extremely bad.

the point that i’m trying to make is the Phantom is objectively a not that good plane in its current state.

It may perform well, and that I can attest to, but it is not a good plane.

I think it is, at least I read something akin to that somewhere

They had the centreline and pod pylon for A models back in 1996. Whether they continued to fit them in later years until Litening was introduced, I don’t know

Can i see the actual source for that?

I believe the lines between Gripen A and C are rather blurred, they were continuously upgraded if my memory serves me right up until they received the refuelling probe and APU shift by SAAB-BAE and then BAE remarketed it as the Gripen C (with SAAB’s involvement of course). I’m not entirely sure where the line is drawn as all Gripen A’s were modified into Gripen C’s (again if my memory serves me right).

The source of the photo?
By Rob Schleiffert, he gives the time and place as Ljungbyhed, 25 August 1996. Captions on some other photos with that date and location state it was an open day event at the Kungliga Krigsflygskolan

Sorry but photo itself doesnt prove anything.

İt doesnt even have date on it.

Edit:The guy took that photo stated that it was taken at 1996 appereantly.

Thanks for the info.(it would be really nice if you share information with source next time).
