F/A-18E early equipped 2nd gen targeting pod AN/AAS-46 TFLIR. Air-to-Air & Air-to-Ground armaments like F/A-18C late but pre JHMCS, AIM-9X (Block I) and GBU-54(V)2/B Laser JDAM
Maybe F/A-18C+ or F/A-18C with AN/APG-79(V)4 AESA radar in folder with F/A-18C late
F/A-18E late (Block II) after F/A-18C Late, my guess
Theres also another option besides the Block 3 Super Hornet… The Advanced Super Hornet Prototypes.
It fixes what is probably the BIGGEST issue the jet, the terrible performace; by increaseing the thust 8 thousand pounds total. As well as adding other features like an integradeted IRST and enclosed weapons bays. It came in both single seat and two seat configurations but the single seat is just cooler.
@ron_23@quartas121 I have a strong suspicion that this is not the JAGM we are used to, because this is the JAGM developed in cooperation between Raytheon and Boeing.
Can this aircraft get some weaponry that is only exclusive to the US? It’s so disappointing to see the US being treated as a early play-test nation rather than a nation that offers unique top tier vehicles.
The U.S government is one of the biggest arms suppliers in the world, and has been for some time.
Can’t really expect other countries to NOT have US weaponry xD
They don’t have to spam it everywhere though. There isn’t a need for a Super Hornet in any of the other trees that could get it. No other tech tree even operates them too so you can’t even use the service argument for this one
I think he means like the following update remember how 3 different nations got an f18 the update after, to be fair their is only 3 nation in the real world that operate it so we will see it for US and possibly the British since Australia only. also ground ordinance isnt some well kept secret unlike air -air like we will se the 174 on only the US f18E.
plus like you said being the worlds largest exporter of weapons will mean other nations will have access, to be fair they probably could have given only the US more advanced versions, I.e. 120C-5’s only for the f15E or C GE not every hornet and the eurofighters
Yes and no. If it had exported said weaponry, then I yes, I have no issues with it. However that is not the case. The devs new inconsistent standard is compatibility, not if a weapon has been exported. The JAGM-MR hasn’t been exported yet the British, Japanese, Dutch, and Taiwanese have them. Of the four, only the British and Dutch 64E is compatible with it. The other two is not because it needs to be a certain 64E version (4.5 or higher).
Do you think the AIM-174 will be usa exclusive? No because technically it can be compatible with other Fa18s even if they need software upgrades.
The AGM-169 (the predecessor to the JAGM) is also a good option. and will fill the need for a laser guided agm for US fixed wing aircraft
