Give it to meeeeee!!!
Question: where do people want this to go and where do people think it would be best
- USA (makes most sense)
- Germany
- USSR
- Britain (makes sense)
- Japan
- China
- Italy
- France
- Sweden
- Israel (makes some sense)
At the moment, since there isn’t a dedicated Saudi sub tree or nation, I’d prefer to just see it as represented by some unlockable skins added to the F-15C.
I might be able to justify it going to Britain if they weren’t already getting commonwealth aircraft, and if they also had more Saudi stuff (which right now is just kinda limited to the Lightning F.53).
I thought Britain would be one of the top 3 contenders to get Saudi aircraft because they have bought so much British equipment but Israel through regional ties and the US for designing the thing
Yeah
Also I somehow mistook this suggestion for being just a Saudi F-15C, rather than the F-15SA. So, I shall say for now US event vehicle (unless Saudi sub tree gets added in the future)
I actually just want the F15S to go to Britain because I would like an earlier F15 their but I would rather even have a late Eagle for Britain than a late Eagle event
The only two realistic options for consideration are either the US or the UK. A standalone tree for the F-15SA is highly unlikely, so I’m ruling that out.
I’m pretty neutral on whether it should go to the US or the UK. It boils down on which nation has the greater need for it.
It could go to Israel but considering that they are likely getting South America as a sub-tree I’m not to sure, could also spark another VT4-in-Japan fight again, that would be fun.
#VT-4forJapan
That is wayyyy to big to be 1 sub tree, they would get almost every plane in the world
Considering recent geopolitical events, it’s unlikely, and I would oppose adding it to Israel. They’ve already ordered the F-15IA, another member of the Advanced Eagle family, and can wait until that delivery is fulfilled.
I’m just saying that they are more likely than almost everyone else
Given the extensive flight testing in the US, it being an American vehicle, and the fairly long history of the US and Saudi Arabia with F-15’s I think it makes the most sense to go to the US
“So you mean Russia?”-Gaijin, probably
Is there any good info on how far they took the conversions of some F-15S to F-15SA standard? Is it like strike eagles where they got new ECM/RWR and radar and maybe the MAWS or is it a really deep conversion with the full FBW deal
Looks like they went all the way. New fuselage and wings, are they really even conversions at that point?
From what I can tell it looks identical to what is planned for the Israeli F-15I+, which is an upgrade to F-15I aircraft to bring them up to the planned F-15IA standards. If I had to guess it just has all the new systems the SA has, with the notable difference being the airframe, meaning 229 different engines and only 2 underwing pylons among other things. In some cases it also appears to be referred to as the F-15S+, which furthers my suspicion.
they got new wings so they could have the new pylons
really? ive only seen it referred to as F-15SA conversion and F-15SR
Yet to see them make use of extra pylons, so possibly just strengthened or newer replacements. Possibly not from the SA.
Usually it’s only where I’ve seen initial discussions about the upgrade before it was purchased and implemented, so just the offer stage, and eventually it turned into what it is now.
No Im pretty sure they are SA wings. Maybe they didn’t do the whole FBW deal which is what allows them to use those pylons? Or they don’t for operational/cost reasons
I have my doubts for now, I’ll believe it when I see it specified or visually identified, until then I’m under the presumption it can’t.
They refer to the new wings as F-15SA wings
