Boeing F-15EX Eagle II - Sharpening the Bald Eagle's Talons

Yeah but if I had to become an Israeli pilot in an F15IA, I would have to learn how to use an iPad cause

No new info😔

Sadly. This time of year is surely slow. Hopefully, 2026 and 2027 will bring juicy info for us.

Maybe we’ll see some info about the AIM-260

it’s not that much heavier surprisingly

here’s f-15e for reference, only a metric ton heavier. but it will have worse thrust to weight because engines don’t compensate for the added weight (If it had ge-132 it would’ve been an utter menance)

wikipedia is not a source. It might not be 36,500 lb but it will be a tad bit heavier i imagine, or maybe even the same weight (electronics are more compact, fuel still roughly the same, lighter alloys, yada yada yada). Future blocks might get the 132s, similar to how the F-15Es got the 229s later in service

No I mean the source it’s referring to that’s non postable here, the 15sa flight manual

True, but the QA is an improved SA, and the EX is an newer and improved QA. I doubt or at least hope that the EX is not that heavy

From what I’ve found it does seem the airframe revision happened between the SA and the QA, so potentially the QA and EX are lighter than the SA. But nothing’s certain, and I’m not even sure the structural rework happened after the SA and not before

Looks like the F-15EX could equip MRMLs, bringing the total to 16 x A2A missiles.

Cool stuff. Now they just need to use the GE-132 for later blocks and you have a Super Eagle
