Boeing F-15EX Eagle II - Sharpening the Bald Eagle's Talons

Well there you go bud.

Find me a source saying these are operational, were tested etc. The only thing I’ve ever found was statements on it being “proposed” by boeing
Which is about as much if not less than something like the F-15SE

And btw I don’t think the F-15EX getting 22 or 24 missiles instead of 12 is exactly the same as the flankers getting 12 missiles instead of 10
Both are inaccurate but the gameplay impact is not quite the same

There is patent on it. should be more than enough.
BTW, it needs only one data-bus, theres almost nothing that limits it from fielding on aircraft.

The belly dual racks are literally sdb quad racks bro
Those are NOT for amraams
We have no info on actual racks

just would leave it here.

Release clearance could be an issue.

Well if it’s actually functional then… You’re the first one to give further proof than just posting that one picture
Not sure it’d be balanced tho
Like, imagine 22 missiles bruh

we already have 14(?) missiles on Su-30SM. not that far away tbh

True, whatever anyway it’s not like balance is a thing at top tier
22 missiles would look fun at least

you would never really want to bring the full loadout because it would be very draggy and make your turning radius much larger, but would still be a fun gimmick

It’s more to have a more A2A options when carrying mixed ground loads.

Being able to carry 12 x AIM-9/AIM-120 and a metric load of GBU-53s is going to be very appealing. And frankly it’s just meeting what the Su-30SM can already do.

fine enough

They just have to make 6x GBU-53 launchers and clear stations 1 and 9 for heavier a2g loads and EX is perfect multirole

Not sure that’d be possible though
Putting that much load on outer pylons would require some really strong wing structure

I mean, 1 wing is all an F-15 needs to fly so I don’t think it’s out of the question especially on new build F-15’s

All i want is the 1 and 9 pylons to be able to take SiAW (in the future)

It must take SiAW, cuz it already can take AARGM and maybe -ER

These are unrelated, the fact that an F-15 can fly without one wing doesn’t mean a wing can carry infinite weight
There’s a reason heavy duty pylons are usually the inner ones

Maybe a2a+a2g is a stretch.

But the one wing thing does mean the F-15 is able to deal with much greater wing loading and only on one side too, combined with better construction on new build F-15EX I think the outer pylons can handle greater loads than what we’ve seen so far, but maybe not as much as inner wing or fuselage

And F-15EX also goes from 23,000lb max payload on the F-15E (some sources say 24,500lb max) to crazy 29,500lb max payload. I don’t think it’s out of the question that a good chunk of the extra 6,500 or 5,000 lb is for the outer wing stations
