Boeing F-15EX Eagle II - Sharpening the Bald Eagle's Talons

since when is su57 4.5 gen? , its a 5th gen aircraft it would come alongside when usa and china get their f22s and j20s respectively

im hoping for f15IA by early-mid 2026

Since russia has proven that they are lacking dangerously far behind china and america in stealth tech, the only thing that makes the Felon a 5th gen is the shape of the airframe, it doesn’t have S-ducted engines or other notable stealth features required to compete in the same bracket as J-20, F-22 and F-35

so i guess it is a 4.5 lol, just i wonder how usa mains would react if it came before the f22 if it likley comes along with f15EX

Is there any info on the EPAWSS?

Like what?

Unfortunately, I didn’t find anything other than general phrases like “New RWR, new ECM”

https://www.baesystems.com/en/product/eagle-passive-active-warning-survivability-system-epawss

This is all you need to know based on the available public information.

Game relevant stuff, bands, does it have lock on capability like Rafale’s RWR should and similar.

Importantly, more countermeasures (360) and ALE-47 dispensers which can use different types of flare to better fight IRCCM seekers if I recall correctly. Also, ALE-47 is compatible with BriteCloud 218 active countermeasures to fool radar missiles much better than chaff or a towed decoy (like on EFT, F-16, and F-18)

Combined with how it is very likely BOL compatible, it will be extremely survivable

IIRC, it is not EPAWSS feature. Israel F-15I it have… maybe from 2000s?

i know more CM existed before, but US ones getting 360 came from the EPAWSS

Funny thing is, my fam was on a work trip when they showed this at a air show. 😣

i know just that it comes with 360 cm

Do we know if the F15EX can use Big Stick?

you reffering to the AIM-174B ??

Yes, AIM 174B Big Stick

At the current state? Haha, no.

I the future with a higher BR cap? Yes

Unlikely currently.

Though it is probably technically feasible to carry 2-3 on Stations 2, 5, and 8, the AIM-120Ds it carries already have proven their effectiveness in longe range

And the AIM-260s, it will be getting shortly will only improve on that.

Plus if I’m not mistaken the Air Force is working on their own outsized extremely long range weapon, the LREW program.

I’d say it is possible as we saw in the past that the Navy shared tech with the Air Force and it is logical: Big stick= more range than small stick (AIM-260 in this case)
