It is a potent anti infantry / armoured support platform in reality, which does not have an immediate counterpart in the west. The guns are for different ammunition types, as for some reason with this design they did not carry across the dual feed of the BMP2. Could be for redundancy, could be for heat dissipation, could also just be “why not, it’ll still do the job”.
IIRC two guns were a requirement to act as a makeshift AA against helies and low alt aircraft in general. The prototype had a single gun and was rejected, there was also Object 787. Not exactly “it”, but fits the bill
Base of real life the BMPT can only fire one type of ammo from one canon so like one fire HE and other one fire APDS
As of rn you can take both APDS belts if you like
afaik there isn’t any technical limitation preventing you from using AP (and HE) in both guns its just a doctrine thing.
Also does anybody know if they have added the ability to switch between both guns yet or is it still just firing out of the right gun?
you can use the “switch primary weapon” keybind
and it has 3 different states as well but 2 of them are the right gun and the last one are the missiles
seems like it is still wip
Yeah there shouldnt be any limitation and I’m only stating what’s available in game
what an amazing and constructive argument
