By how much are we talking about here mate?

Dunno I’ve seen folks saying it’s been improved, which will help massively the abrams mitigate the instant death from 30 - 40mm autocannosn.

so it’s only the M1A1? bit random they would do it only on that one?

Probably juat testing it on one that gets a lot of play time to collect data. Hopefully.

Its now volumetric but a BMP-T was still getting through it and spalling damages the gun controls making your tank unable to shoot back.

I’ll check it when it’s out, I’ve already got most every abrams in game anyway so .

Huh. That’s… a lot more than I expected. I guess we will see how much it impacts gameplay, will at least slow the barrel break on mbts for another second or to.

With their era block buff though it may even out with frontal shots being a little more of a toss up.

Aaaaaaand 30mm and 40mm autocannons are now useless against BMPTs. Thanks Gaijin! Just the right amount of KE protection to render the 40mm useless :)

Well, I’d lower front plate. But now I am wondering with them going from 150 to 225 effectiveness against KE… might be a very risky shot

That’s the side ERA, it’s the same protection cap, just that higher protection will be reached at lower angles

I’ve no idea why folks eep going on about the effectiveness of the ERA if it’s buffed.
You shouldn’t be shooting at relikt anywhere in general
As it’s always been a tossup of if the round iwll go through properly or not

Consider what usually happens when you encounter a BMPT. It starts spamming 30mm into your face trying to knock your barrel out of action - which can take less than fractions of a second.

In that time, you HAVE to snap off a shot that will disable / put down the BMPT. If you miss - you die. If he misses, well - he’s got 4x ATGMS and is spitting out more shots every second.

You don’t always have the luxury of waiting until just the right angle, just the right moment and getting a nice easy LOS to the relatively small (relative to the vehicle mass) unprotected zones.

It’s those snap shots where ERA particularly tends to troll incoming darts - by magicking them out of existence in some cases even when you get the first shot off and do everything else right. The buffs will just make that happen all the more often.

So far on the devserver yes, i imagine it’ll be added to all of them though, it also comes with updates to the bulkhead model of the frontal fuel tanks and an update to the trunion model. Though the last one still needs a bit of work :) Overall i’m excited to see how it impacts performance!

Due to the hull down capabilities they should increase the BR a little bit AND take away the ammo box.

Easier said than done when top BR Russian tanks are literally covered by it from basically all angles, my dude. At some point if you need to kill a T-90M or BMPT you have to shoot the magic ERA and hope it doesn’t troll you.
