Noooo! We’re supposed to say that the BMPT is OP and can’t be 1 shotted even on its weak spot and it can destroy vehicles by looking at them with its 30mm and rockets!
It’s because it’s the best ground vehicle in the game only at lower BR ratings. It could go to 13.0 and be balanced.

You know what would really really help?
An emergency change to disable barrel damage from 30mm and below autocannons.
I don’t care at all if it’s not realistic, that ship has long since sailed with gaijins actions.
Any other tank would have its barrel or breech damaged or even completely destroyed, but not the bmpt.
Whenever a game-breaking mechanic, vehicle damage model or bug is added, it’s fixed very quickly, within a month at most. But if it’s related to rus vehicles, it takes longer for some reason.
Players can laugh at me all they want, but I notice these tendencies a lot in the higher tiers. No wonder people think there is a russian bias in this game.

Tbh the battle rating borderline doesnt matter anymore with that thing. Its super good for 10.3 vehicles that they get spared from it now but the BMPTs damage model is complete and utter bs no matter if youre shooting it with a 10.7 DM23 or a 12.7 DM 53.
All of these discussions about what battle rating is appropiate could have been completely avoided if Gaijin was honest and fair and just fixed the absolute bs going on with the damage model from the beginning instead of making it worse.
I mean, were discussing whether a vehicle with 30mm APDS and LOS ATGMs should be in 12.0+, thats not normal.

Give BMPT darts, arty and scouting ability and put it at 11.7

Sorry no, m900 would skyrocket its BR lol its a 500+ pen round.
The addition of m883 would help it a lot, though the M774 maye be long in tbe tooth but it’s certainly functional.
Again the tanks are good, the players aren’t as such, I’ve got almost all their ground tree finished.
The 9.3s are solid, the 10.0 leopard 2k is amazing. Good spaa, strong and numerous lights wtc

I doubt there’s the player motivation to do it tbh.
They had an opportunity to actually make a meaningful change and free 10.7 from facing the propaganda wagon but sadly chickened out.
It’s hilarious gaijin added the dammed thing at 10.3 - shows how their tooling isn’t worth a damn.
Spookston’s video on it at top tier shows how broken it is tbf, just just driving around without a care in the world, having a laugh

It was… well goddam awful.
They also updated it very shortly after release to stop the ammo belt cooking off killing the crew, which was, welll absolutely disgusting behaviour on their part.
And yeah, they can move the up all they like but it wont change the fact that it’s fundamentally broken.

An autocannon which is inaccurate as shit (same gun which managed to shoot the helicopter it was mounted on by the way), and yet it’s a goddam laser in this game.

An artificial hand-held gift from gaijin where the ammo belt cooking off doesn’t kill the crew, despite the belt running from the breech to under the crews seats. Utterly ridiculous.

Quite frankly a damage model that gaijn should be ashamed of.
The era should give very little kinetic protection at 0 degrees, which should rise as the angle increases. Gaijin just gave it a flat kinetic protection modifier. Yes the calculations are complex but it can be abstracted to a simple lookup table that gives ke protection values for a given angle, but sadly gaijin did the gaijin thing and just couldn’t be bothered so it didn’t happen.

It’s amusing how people can claim there’s no Russian bias with crap like this, and gaijin do themselves no favours.
