Namers run one 30 mm trashmaster that has slow fire rate and can be disabled for repairs. The BMPT has two guns along with 4 atgms AND ERA. The BMPT is one problem the SM-SV now exists creating the worst vacuum at br 12.7 which used to be manageable with CAS is now… gone. You either play russia or you play anything less than 10.3 which is where Gajin put this BS in the first place.

Jesus Christ, what an absolute shit show it is.
Helicopter’s within a couple of minutes firing FnF missiles, bmpts just holding w into your spawn. Even the opposing team were commenting how shit the gameplay is.
Is this really how you want your game to be gaijin?

Regardless of what ones opinion on the BMPT (And the state of top tier in general) is, I highly suspect that if the issues resolving around it are not solved well enough by the next round of BR balancing (Which should most absolutely include decompression to 13.3-14.0) I fear we might see a second Great War Thunder Riot.

Getting anything over 13.0 is just copium.

BMP-T scales with any BR, until it has a damage model rework.

Gonna disagree there, i have a far easier time killing it with DM53 or m829A2 than say, DCT - 10 OR l27A1.
Or funnily enough my VRCC the DM33 somehow does actually hurt it.
But mbts and such with lower pen, bar maybe the Type 90 get wrecked fast by the BMPT.
Sure if you get a shot on the hull but no matter the BR the stupidity of a hull down BMPT stays the same and that can only be fixed with a damage model rework

The grind is all this game has but with this META what’s the point? I only play top tier and if I bother grinding other nations it’s meaningless since I will only win playing russia or sweat for a win and pray I have good teammates with other nations after playing and having an insane win streak past 10 games I think it’s just time to retire. I already uninstalled the game and requesting a refund on my premium account I bought November for 1 year. If i knew the BMPT was going to break top tier along with SM-SV I would of just kept my money and did 90 days or less. At this point I just purchased Arc Raiders and Resident evil, I love this game but I think it’s time to move on for now.
It’s hard for me, but I will just STOP playing BRs over 9.7-10.0.
I’m not having a good time at top tier anymore, I feel like I’m constantly loosing against Russia, and your 10 wins in a row as Russia kinda proves it. I think I never actually got 4-10 wins in a row as NATO at top tier since the released of the BMPT, as you showed it.
Very sad path WT has taken.

WOW, it’s incredible how people are still debating this and the vehicle hasn’t been even slightly adjusted as a fix… Interesting, I think I already know which vehicle I’m going to buy during the sale to farm Lions.

Gaijin isn’t just decompressing things from 12.7 to 13.3 or let alone 14.0 in a single update.
Oh agreed, that’s not up for debate, but my point was more when i do have a hull shot and do pen it the lower end rounds struggle a lot
If I can see the hull and they are preoccupied the 40mm dart on the AJAX can kill them.
Side and offset angle shots are pretty good chance, the problem lies with when it is in cover or angle is not favourable.
I don’t think creating topics outside the main one about the BMPT/72 will solve the problem honestly, I don’t even think feeding the main thread itself will change anything.
We’ve been debating this vehicle for months now, and there hasn’t been any reduction in its armor or composition, nor any kind of nerf to its turret or cannons that would meaningfully improve face-to-face engagements against the BMPT/72.
At this point, just accept the vehicle, wait for the next mid-year sale, and buy it. There’s no point trying to prove the facts while being a victim of them instead, prove them by being part of the problem and ruining 4 different BRs with a single vehicle that has an 80% win rate.
It makes no sense how much damage their auto cannosn do though, like if you take the BMPT and watch it peppers even 122B+ frontally to teh point it can even kill them.
Yet a BMP2 cannot?
It’s the exact same round.
Quite funny that the last game I played, russia fielded only one or two of the BMPT, and guess what, they lost. 12.7 game quite easily.
It’s absolutely ridiculous how much of a match impact a mere 2 or 3 of these things can have.
These specific topic threads are just containment threads. The devs do not read them.
