BMPT/72 BR Topic

I am here again to remind Gajin that the BMPT should NOT BE IN THE GAME. This tank is geniunly the most annoying and broken tank hull down and when you finally make it to it’s side or front it is covered with ridiculous ERA and 5 crew spread out. REMOVE BMPT

Why is Spikes/MMPs top down approach/dmg model broken ? Why is Bradley TOW-2B top down approach/dmg model broken ? Why is AH-64E JAGMs top down approach/dmg model broken ?

Why is bushmaster rate of fire/dmg model bad af ?

Why do tandem ATGMs sometimes get eaten by ERAs instead of getting through ?

No wonder NATO is loosing hard at top tier, every single each of their special technology is either bugged or nerfed-to-the-ground. They gotta do that on purpose

So don’t be surprised if BMPT is completely OP. This has been planned.

EDIT : I’m not even talking about russian ERAs/autoloaders/side armors in general eating DARTs as if it was nothing. If they focus on how NATO stuff is broken and fix it, it would be a good start.

I would be angry too if I used spikes but really, one tank destroyer with an ammo crate camping a rock in an open field with no fear of dying and holding F to repair while then spamming APFDS and ATGM is by far some bullshit they need to fix. I would like if they started by removing the tech tree version at bare minimum cause 5 crew is too fking much to deal with on an ERA tank.

BMPT being completely OP is a given, of course.

I don’t like the implicit idea of the META being the MBTs, because playing IFVs (except BMPT ofc) is basically useless (even more when it’s NATO IFVs).

In top tier, you either play a MBT or your start with a disadvantage

im troubled my the belt not exploding at times both in the hull and the turret, they should explode dosent matter where you hit them cuz they are directly attached to the hul, and or at least make it so ammo fire slowly kills the crew since the ammo goes right besides the commander and the gunner

I thought destroying the upper part of the ammo belt couldn’t kill the crew.

There is low chance for this event. Happened to me once yesterday. Other hits caused non critical fires or ammo loss without any fire at all.

Like, completely inconsistent, a total nonsense.

“Sometimes it makes the tank explode, sometimes not”

“If they hit your belt, you loose a little bit of ammo, but not all the ammo. Just a little bit”

Wtf is this fr.

Sometimes, I hit the HULL ammo and the BMPT doesn’t explode. The ammunition like, vanish.

No sense at all. Straight bias

Never saw that in patch notes though.

Its more like a bug than an intended feature

Seems too consistent for bug. Also it would already get reported and fixed by now. Namer 30 used to explode after ammo hit but after fix ammo just burns always. I have 4 times more battles on both namers than on tt bmpt and I cant recall single time ammo hit caused my tank to explode.

Those may as well be the same thing for Gaijin.

Then either @gfdsa_killer is right and its actual bug or devs just didnt mention it in logs. I think its 2nd because it works really similar to internal fuel tanks: they just vanish in most cases but sometimes destroy your tank.

Ammo hits should just explode the tank like they do to literally every other tank without blowout panels in the game, I don’t see why Gaijin thinks this particular tank needs special treatment. Marder gets hit in the ammo and it’s game over. Type 24 ICV gets hit in the ammo and it’s game over. Goes for basically every tank in the game.

BMPT doesn’t have a truly unmanned turret like the PUMA, Namer or Type 24 ICV and it doesn’t have blowout panels or separated ammo from the crew so it should just explode if the belts are hit.

The damage model being nonsense is 100% developer copium, trying to make the vehicle artificially better than facts say it is.

And even then Gaijin has deemed that “no, you can explode sometimes, actually”

Not for most MBTs that have autocannons like Leopard 2K or KPz-70.
Some tanks like AMX-32/40 don’t even have their autocannon ammo modelled which is funny.

Because theyre separated from the crew compartment via armor.

That is indeed weird but probably since no coaxial guns have their ammo modeled

They have a hole in the bottom.
Even if we disregard that, there’s like 12mm of RHA separating the ammo from the crew and that can definitely get breached by a round passing though that area.

If 20mm autocannon vehicles can get their ammo modelled, so can half a dozen MBTs in the game that are using it as well.

They actually tried to model it on AMX-32 but forgot about it. From what I can tell, this big box under the autocannon is only modelled on a single AMX tank, which is weird. It’s also found on a vehicle family that undoubtedly has one of the trolliest damage models in the game.

They dont. Its just not on the Xray because its part of the external armor not the internal one. You can see the bottoms if you look at it in the armor tab rather than the Xray one.

Maybe? I havent tested if these armor parts are modeled like the blast doors

Extremely weird but classic Gaijin to model something on one tank and then just forgetting about it completely
