Most of the time i hit the belt on the turret and that puts the bmpt on fire, but shouldnt that fire get inside the tank and kill the crew with a chain reaction?
forgot to mention that every time i hit the belt i always get killed by theirs missiles, so i really dont know what to do when i face one.
Gaijin has labeled the belt as external. The whole war thunder community disagrees saying it is internal. For now Gaijin is trying to buff the BMPT to justify its increase in br to 11.3. For not, only shoot the LFP and sides. It won’t guarantee kills so if it sees you after shooting just reverse. If a BMPT sees you first, just back out, its hard to one shot. You need a group of teammates to take out the BMPT reliably every time.

Just shoot the missile, it pops all missiles on both sides least on tt version of it , and also belts.
Lower plate little left or right, instead dead middle also most of the times pops ammo from inside.
Side shooting , aim little bit infront of turret to minimizing risk just shooting its engine,
So no, you dont need friends if you see lonely bmpt , and dont panic and forget to aim.
If it is coming behind a hill, aim on missiles, aim on missiles and yet again aim on missiles. You get it thoothless long enough to land another shot
It is now on 11.3 and still has a 65% win rate. The average player manages 65% win rate; let that sink in. Why in the name of Russian bias does the ammo belt not ammorack the vehicle, even though it goes from the hull into the turret? Why do the Marders blow up when you hit the ammo but not the BMPT ? As if it is a surprise that these vehicles still perform way too good, these tanks easily outclass any other vehicle in the game. You could move it to 12.7 and it would still dominate.
Nerf the armor and/or make it so that any shot that destroys ammo, kills the tank.
This vehicle goes to show how incompetent gaijin really is at managing their own game. Shameful and utterly disappointing.
And it shows proof you shouldn’t take everything defines in the game as gospel, such as defining what blow out panels do. Or adding vehicles that weren’t finished with things because they “had the ability”
The vehicle went up BR yesterday and you think the WR will decrease overnight? Naive, I’d say.

well the site I use tracks winrate by br and by day so even at 11.3 they have a 65% winrate…
on WarThunder Data Project it’s 80% at 10.7 btw
ive had direct hits on barrels where they didnt take any damage for some reason, generally happens when the barrel is pointing towards you and you hit a weird edge part. Its extremely annoying. Had it happen on T80s/90s/72s etc. etc.
Sometimes you can also kill a tank by shooting and hitting the barrel and the round travels alongside it, goes through breech and kills the crew, pretty common when dealing with leopards as you tend to aim for the breech there anyway
