side tracks work also for ammo detonation.

pretty much the weak spot are :

  • LFP (high damage )
  • driver port ( avrage damage )
  • side front ( hight damage - insta kill )
  • ammo turret ( work good on the bmpt-72 - insta kill )
  • system control ( easy to taget with auto canon )
  • shoting twice the era armor ( after first hit, you second round should pen like butter )

that the ones i always keep on my head when going against them

( i am not saying it should still be at 10.7, there a big difference btw helping know the weak spot and actual tank br ) this is not for you, just incase someone acuse again

Except my round cant even pen the side barely if the bmpt is angled… Meanwhile id say 60% of the time ammo pens dont even kill it

just shot the port and turret of a bmpt with 3bm42 repeatedly and it was regenerating ERA blocks and the FCS wouldn’t break

I’d say 70%-80%+ lol, and that’s my experience using it. And the crew slot I have it in isn’t even close to being maxed yet 🤣

Streamers who follow war thunder 5 years or more ago made videos that this particular vehicles along with others should never be added fast forward and here we are. It’s almost like veterans play the game enough to know what is good and bad but Gajin is really trying to milk the money at this point. Vacation or not this should of never happened.

I hope this is true cause one thing Gajin seems to not take into account is Russian equipment is not built for crew survival like NATO and saying “external ammo” is ridiculous for a nation who puts crew on top of an auto loader full of ammo.

And when these vehicles get an ‘equivalent’, they love to cry about it—just look at the whining to this day over the Begleitpanzer; I’ve even seen a post asking to remove its ATGM lol.

I still see people claiming it has the same armor as top-tier MBTs, even though I could pen top-tier tanks with my TAM 2C but can’t even pen the side of a BMPT… now this one, that damn BMPT should be at top tier, end of story. It doesn’t matter if they get APFSDS or not, just keep that thing away from anything below top tier—preferably at 13.0.

Dont expect anything to be done about this blatant issue as gaijin likely wont do anything about it until the next major Update. IF its Nato or minor Country it gets nerfed fast. If its russian or Chinese it takes 3-6 months for anything substantial to be done. the move from 10.3 - 10.7 did nothing since they also buffed it along side the BR increase. So expect something else similar to happen IF it does get moved up further in BR. If it goes to 11.0 or 11.3 itll likely see further buffs making it even more unkillable from anything around its BR range. The fact that you can fire DM53 at BMPT Flat broadside and do almost nothing allowing it to take your barrel and disable everything in your tank before your reloaded with an Aced Crew is just dumb. Meanwhile Any NATO Vehicle gets shot in the side it cant return fire because the turret BASKET is considered the Horizontal Traverse meanwhile all Russian vehicles just have a turret ring and nothing else.

Yes it does have the same Armor as the T90M But its even worse then that because it also has 2 extra crew members, Era Addon Package similar to the T90M and T80-BVM but atleast with the two mentioned Tanks you can atleast front drive wheel them, Driver port them, or disable the breech in one shot. BMPT thats not the case since the Driver Port only leads to you hitting the “external” Internal Turret face that also has ERA on it so your Dart just goes Poof and does thing.

So, I’ve already tried shooting the tracks when they’re angled, just like it works with any top-tier MBT, and absolutely nothing happened lol. It’s ridiculous; the same thing happened when I aimed at its exposed side and nothing—the APFSDS (DM63) didn’t even penetrate, it just vanished.

Same thing happens with Dm53 out of the RH120 L55 on the Challenger 3TD same with the Round on the 12.7 STRV 122s. I understand Relict is actually meant to essentially sheer off/Blunt the tip of APFSDS Rounds thus meaning they have to Self Sharpen again (since thats how Tungsten works) But it shouldnt just delete DU rounds for example like L27A1 Charm 3 and 829a2 as those rounds are meant to have “enhanced” capability against ERA. Its all just a balancing point by Gaijin to make Non Nato MBTs not complete garbage and cannon fodder. But the implementation and ERA coverage on the BMPTs mixed with the increased effectiveness Gaijin puts on Relict ERA makes the vehicle just a joke to try and defeat.

Put them both on 16.0 BR, so they will have their separate queue and will no longer cause the problem to the MM, everyone else on the battlefield, and a common sense.

Win rate evens out on russia vs russia games. 50% of players loses no matter how many BMPTs they have.

I also love how gaijin have just decided to make the breech of the 2a42 in the bmpt’s half the size making it take up way less room in that central turret sponson… comparing to the low res model in the tt bmp 2, it is way flatter, even the higher res version in the swede bmp has a way thicker breech. so many times I shoot at the only thing visible and with consistently high ping games, you have to shoot a second before the enemy, making the central turret the only viable option and it’ll damage nothing cus no spall.

also look at the frontal fuel tanks, theyre external cause the crewmen have a non spalling 6mm plate behind them. very nice gaijin

also a little off topic but did you know the bmp 3 doesn’t even have its ammo modeled to go into the gun? It just teleports there… It was reported over 2 years ago, and still no fix.
