Yep, agreed. Enocuntering them in GSB in the Challenger 2 wasnt too bad, still annoying as hell, but at least they die when they are suppose to, but in the Challenger 1s… its far less consistant. If they only faced top tier rounds, they would at least be partially mitigated, which is why I think a 11.7+ BR is needed for them

I’m pretty sure its some sort of bug where the dart just fizzles out of existence after hitting the ERA, spall liner then the fuel tank it touches the ammo and disappears, just hit the exact same shot and had the exact same result…

(Ik this is a late response but wanted to throw in a mention)

I don’t remember correctly 100% what it was but there was a short period where when APFSDS rounds hit ERA and penned T90M the APFSDS round would do spins inside and lose all spalling, saw clips circulating and replicated it myself, also saw it happen a couple times in matches, now I wonder if Gaijin messed with that line of code a little

I mean sure, but couple of things to note:

A) you had to shoot same place twice. First shot removed the ERA and fuel tank, and only second got through
B) youre in tank with 4 second reload
C) you caught the terminator in position where it couldnt fire back one you kept driving forward so that there was a rock between you and him, allowing you to reload while denying him 4 seconds where he could fire at you.

Were it any other situation where you didnt caught said BMPT with, as they say, his pants down, I doubt youd live to tell the tale, seeing as you still nearly died if the BMPT wasnt firing onto god knows where when you peeked him second time. And even if you didnt caught BMPT with his pants down, while you might have gotten shot off thanks to 4 second reload, not every tank has that luxury.

So I hope this was meant to be played off as a joke rather than geniune attempt at downplaying the effectivness of BMPT.

The fact is even after nerf the br and “fixed” the “bug” of ammo would never go cooked, the bmpt is still so op. I remember many op vehicles, Centauro, T29, premium harrier, etc. But nothing is as op and annoying as BMPT. Idk why Gaijin think it is a good idea to put a vehicle with literally better protection than top tier tank in 10.3 is a good idea. The crewless turret used to immune to ammo cook off so you can literally put it in 12.7 and still become the most annoying vehicle available. Even now after the “fix” BMPT is still super hard to kill even if you hit the weak spot, because the spot is so small and the damage is so inconsistent.

Similar bug has been here for years. The ammo has a small chance to disappear when hit a layer which is why damage to Russian tanks are so inconsistent when facing the infamous rubber-ERA-steel-textile-steel-fuel tank-spall liner combo. Same thing could happen to all tanks but non-Russian tanks usually have way less layer since NERA counts as a single entity. This is why the side of a Russian tank has a chance to take a modern dart and only get a hit.

Or, make them 11.0, move Puma VJTF/KF41 down to 10.7 (or fix there bugs) fix all those wierd things in Terminator which makes them stronger then they should…

What exactly do you propose fixing about bmpt that will make it worthy of 11.0 and not 11.3+

Like, removing its supposed “External” belts which makes them not explode, or in an case of Blowout (what shouldn’t even be possible in the 1st place) that atleast the Ammo gets removed…

or give it the apfsds like the bmp2m make the ammo explode like it should and send it up

btw guys… You can 1 Shot kill bmpt with HE rounds. shoot directly above the hatches on the turret.

They Nerf 30mm SPAA and then add a 30mm t72 with Rockets.
And if they add Dart and move it to 12.7 then t hat just moves the Problem else were. But it will remain a hold W and Leftclick vehicle.

Possible Solutions:
They could remove the ERAfor balance and fun sake of all nations. Would make it penable without having to pray that his spray doesent disables you.

They could make it that the ammo belt in turret will kill him if exploded

Reduce ammount of ammo in vehilce (then they at least can not spray and pray 2 Belts of 400* bullets)

Remove its stabo or worsen it (would at least make it more viable to play against and it has rockets anyway) and if they want to keep it reduce rate of fire by just a bit.

And a reminder, its a game and is supposed to be fun and not cause giant pain for anyone not russian.
