BMPT/72 BR Topic

I have no problem, with the BMPT / 72 being 12.7

I have now both BMPT´s and its really easy to get nukes, even at Top Tier.
A big factor is on what Map you play and what nations you fighting.

You can kill light Tanks, Abrams, Typ10/90 with the gun without any problems frontally.
Leo´s and T tanks are Hard to crack, without Missiles but you have 4 of them.

The only problem i see for the future is, that when it gets dart ammo, there is no reason that it stays at 10.7. It has to be atleast at 12.0!

by your logic fox was fine as 6.7 because the whole scout car is a weakspot, should have gone down to 2.7 even…

Oh really??

there is the gun belt and there is the ammo rack ( typical t-series).

if you watched the video i posted. yt one, you will see that i got 7 time cooked by the same way as you did in your video but didnt die.

Isnt the ammo of the upper belt connected with the lower rack? Just like the 2s38?

Because Im not seeing any wall or smth that protects the belt explosion from the ammo rack.

thats the dev decision, some video show the belt is shown next to the crew, other proof show its got a special cover to protect crew from fire.

i dont know i just simple know how it is now, future changes are welcome to end this misery of unbalenced and crys baby all over the game

Had a similar issue with the electronic component eating the whole sabot and spall, from a side shot.

Someone really needs to make a new bug report of ammo belt considered as external. With the help of a tech mod.

Its incredible they accepted a bug report without proofs just to make bmpt survive ammo belt detonation, but play blind against video proofs.

Gonna also slip this guy in. Pretty much sum’s up bmpt and war thunders double standards.

Gaijin when they go realistic with their own made up sources about blowout panels, ldircm and bmpt ammo rack.

What struck me most was the bias! An ATGM launcher explosion doesn’t cause the entire BMPT to explode, while for everyone else, a hit on an ATGM causes the entire IFV to explode. So how can we talk about realism when what’s realistic for some is just a game convention for others?

When an ATGM installation explodes, the belt remains intact, and when the belt itself is hit, it simply turns black and nothing happens.

They cared more about the granade belt explosion lol.

by your logic, you need to add another +2 BR to game. Maybe more than 2.

nah, what IFV explode ? All of them burn, but not explode. And still - don’t event try to search for realism here.

It’s ironic that the only Soviet-designed tank with poorly modeled armor is the Oplot. They really should have included an Oplot in the Soviet tech tree; that way they would have modeled it properly.

Yeah definitely not cherry picking and ignoring something like AGS for 9.3

Yeah I usually just stick to the well known hull weakspots like the LFP, drivers hatch and if it’s angled the front drivewheel shot. side shot for me the same place I shoot to blow up the T-series carousel also seems to work on the BMPT for me.

Hull down I treat it the same as I treat a hull down crewless turret tank. Either leave it be, push it together with a teammate or kill it’s firepower as much as possible before I push it alone. I can’t kill it by blowing up the ammo belt to save my life. I either miss the belts entirely or I hit the seemingly wrong belt every time. I only killed 1 BMPT using the ammo belt, and that was when I blindly shot at where it’s 30mm tracers came from through a smoke (yeah, did kind of feel bad for that dude).

Yeah I think that is fair.

Great logic, btw. Because for 6.0-6.7 would mean the players will stop suffer against post-war tanks with much more powerful shells, dynamics and protection.
