if you dont want to become a nuclear bomb getting hit in the lfp you can only take 16 rounds
its reload isnt that great
its got the worse nato hump at top tier
its mobility isnt that amazing (its not much faster than a challenger 3)
it gets a turret basket (a nerf in every way)
the 2a7 is HARD carried by l/55 dm53 and good hull armour on the ufp the breech isnt incredibly strong and a bigger weakspot than it looks and the ufp shot trap type of thing is quite inconsistent as ive penned 2a7s there quite often with even l27a1
i think it like 1 second faster to its top speed compared to a challenger 3 compared to its predecessor (the 2a6) its not amazing
the mobility and reload are quite big things along with the turret basket and the fact you can barely even shoot over your side like wtf is up with that. and the armour isnt as good as people make it seem a single lower front plate shot and if there not carrying more than 16 rounds its still a driver basket instantly disabled and the turret face is quite easily pennable and it will take out the breech 99% of the time obviously thats the same with a lot of other tanks but still
i think the leopards should 100% get a 5s reload 6.0s on a max crew which not everyone has and 6.3 on an expert which also not everyone has its still only .3s faster than a chinese tank and .1s faster than a bvm especially when theres tanks in the game with similar firepower and an up to 3.5 second faster reload (type 10 and tkx) the leopards kind of need it
Driver port doesnt really work, not head on. It has to be a bit unangled.
It does, but you can’t shoot at the optic itself, you shoot under it, and the flat plate will catch it - as Gaijin still has not made the hatch volumetric.
The optic is a black hole that disrupts the flight path, otherwise:
Not all that needed, having the armor (on 2A7/122’s) advantage over other lighter MBT’s (largely on the hull) at the cost of reload keeps the Abrams’ and others competitive by trading aforementioned protection for reload speed
At absolute WORST they could go down to like 5.5 ace, but even that’s not necessary
Like this?
Anyway, in my testing the driver port and area between beak and ufp were extremely inconsistent and tbh, I cannot recall a single time I died to the latter. Not to say it cannot happen, its just not a viable weakspot to go for.
why? because you think its the best tank in the game. the abrams has a better reload with a bigger ammo count and ready rack with a round thats equivalent to l/44 dm53 the type 10 and tkx have a 4 second autoloader with 613mm of pen the leopard without a max crew has a worse reload compared to EVERY OTHER NATO TANK you just said you prefer the abrams because its got better mobility a less annoying nato hump and a 5 second reload with a big ready rack and amazing ammo storage. giving the leopards a 5 second reload is a completely logical thing. what about the strvs with a round similar to that of the leclerc except the leclerc has a 5 second autoloader the leopard has a 7.5-6.0s manual loader it wouldnt be overpowered at all
The ONLY thing holding Leos back is the rather mediocre reload. They trade very little besides that to have some of the best armor in the game while not lagging behind in a meaningful way compared to other tanks. 5s Leo would spell fcking disaster.
armour doesnt mean that much at top tier every tank has the same weakspot. the leopard is such an overated tank ingame giving it a 5 second reload would be completely fine
The overwhelming majority of MBT’s in top tier have baskets, and the NATO hump is while larger than average still not really a massive limitation provided you have the situational / positional awareness to work around it, barring the situations where you’re caught off guard where other tanks likely also fail. The mobility on 2A5/A6’s are fine and 2A7’s is iirc only slightly worse than average. meanwhile the armor on 2A7/122 is much better than a majority of current MBT’s.
Basically the armour of Russian MBTs (and even a bit better in a lot of cases) minus the drawbacks of Russian MBTs (gun depression, reload (for the most part), reverse speed).
