BMPT/72 BR Topic (Part 1)

Excuse me but how the hell is the top part of the breech not even considered a part of the hitbox? and somehow didn’t have a single piece of shrap hitting any other part of it? fml

Ladies and gentlemen, the BMPT topic is now officially the currently open topic with the most replies ever.
Congratulation to everyone to dare to speak that much, and congratulation to Gaijin to ignore that much a persisting problem.

And still not even the smallest hint any of whats being said here is being listened to

I was really hoping it was going to be mentioned that they were working on it in the latest community update, but no…

They are just milking the cow, if they state the obvious then i guess they be more pressed into fixing it. Simple Soviet doctrine of not admitting any problems.

Reading between the lines and purely going off observations.

A) Queues at Top Tier are heavily skewed to just one nation. Still. This doesn’t help Gaijin since they are trying sell the overpriced top-tier premiums to as many players (of many trees) as possible.

B) Sales of USSR/Russian premiums are likely strong if the current hordes of Weeb-80s are anything to go by, plus the premium BMPTs.

The tipping-point at which factor A’s loss of revenue begins to outweigh the money coming in from factor B is when you’ll see something change. Balance and enjoyment don’t even come into it.

Because while Gaijin are serially incompetent, biased towards certain trees over others, inept, incapable of discoursing with the community in any cogent way, condescending, intellectually dishonest, incapable of admitting wrongdoing, bloody-minded, living in the old Soviet-eqsue mindset of customer-service, wilfully opaque when it comes to gameplay decisions, comically bad at reading the room and court of public opinion, glacially slow at fixing major issues and all-around stubborn when it comes to redressing errors - they are still Gaijin. They like money.

Greed is a strong override to the litany of wonderful character traits listed above.

Issues like the BMPT also highlight how wasteful it is to get premium time as a top tier enjoyer.

Premium for a year costs a good chunk and has to be used daily. Now, Gajin adds a broken BMPT ruining the main aspect of the game I want to play. Now premium being this perk for grinding repairs etc., one can say whats the point?

I have to avoid playing my favorite part of the game because they want to take their time gathering data on my dime? They need to do better and hire their own testers. Games using players as testers tend to respond quickly to what is and isn’t broken but Gajin monitors the data by increasing BRs which is not the solution to the BMPT/72. At one point it even had artillery for a Tank Destroyer so you know they didn’t put much thought into it before release.

The BMPT needs to be removed from the game until we get a “volumetric” rework.

The simple reason why the BMPT is so broken OP is because the entire tank is volumetric hell!

Imagine a tank made out of: Tiger I driver ports, Leopard-2A7 gun mantlets, and jumbo Sherman machinegun ports. Of course you can’t kill that thing. The entire tank is volumetric bullshit. This thing can be put into br 13.0 and still would be unkillable because the problem is not the gun, or the armor, or the players. No, the problem is THE GAME ITSELF AND ITS MECHANICS!!!

Of course, if we had volumetric rework or some more realistic and functioning penetration simulation mechanics this would not be an issue. Since in real life during the penetration process there is shell and armor deformation and shockwaves and cracking etc. but in WT the penetrations are modelled using very simplistic trigonometric functions with a couple modifications and “IF” statements. Now if you remember your math classes from school then you know that SIN and COS functions can produce zero values under specific conditions. Now if on top of this you introduce sever delay and desynchronization issues you can get some ridiculous results. For example, when you shoot the leopard 2A7 in the gun mantlet, but because the enemy is moving and the server lags a bit, your shell non-clips into the armor of the tank, and then it will try to perform a sideways 0-degree penetration inside the armor. Of course, a 0-degree penetration will fail, thus you get a non-pen result. By the way this is why the hangar penetration analysis tool lies to you, because in your hangar there is no server lag and everything is stationary.

TLDR: The BMPT is just a new reminder that we really need a dedicated patch where instead of new content the developers go through the game and its mechanics and rework, remodel, rethink everything.

Well it certainly requires more careful gameplay at 11.7 compare to initial 10.3 release.

Still dumb and fun not gonna lie.

From the few games I had on it and 10+ win streak at 12.7 it’s so good it got boring.

Stock grind was kinda painful at this br but as soon as i unlocked engine ugprades it became terror for enemy team.

“I’ve heard enough - add the Objekt-787, and put it at 9.3, and make it a premium” - Gaijin, probably

They’re going to lock this post down like they did with the Kh-38s

They will move it or close it they did the same with the Kh-38 thread.

Yep stick in the crappy infantry game mode and let it be used how it should be.

Not to mention added ERA so nice to play. The ammo box really makes it a good position holder

No offense to Gajin but I rather play battlefield, if DICE really wanted to they could give Gajin a run for its money on WT tanks and Air . They really need to focus in on GRB and the current state of the game.

The point is you shouldn’t have to it is not hard to balance things they are choosing not to and in turn will alienate their community. They shouldn’t be this successful with how half assed this game is and has been since they added ground vehicles. I pray one day Gaijin sell it and we get a real dev that cares about gameplay experience and not just making money by adding knowingly broken vehicles.

Ah well a guy can dream

I don’t mind them making money, I don’t like that it’s at others expense such as game balance.
