Battle Pass Vehicles: He 177 A-3/R3 Greif

Makes me wonder if we’re ever going to see the addition of the VB-1 & -2, -3 & -4 or -13 in future. since they might give assorted US bombers a Fritz-X counterpart.

We can’t/won’t even get man in the loop systems for more modern munitions, so I doubt it. Maybe would be a bit too strong too? Though depending on the BR it may fight radar SPAA from time to time, so idk.

Not looking forward to dealing with this in WW1 Dreadnoughts with no AA. Let alone top tier BBs,

Can you make sure to add more SAM Frigates/Destroyers and make sure all top tier battleships have HE-VT? That way we actually have a counter.

wait how has a youtuber played this before it was released?

Maybe they played the He 177 A-5 instead of the A-3/R-3

Or there could be a custom mission that has a user-made version of it.

I forgot the X on the PC1400X.

But it doesn’t change the fact the basic A-5 couldn’t use guided weapons, it lacked the Fug 203 guidance unit that was added to the R1.

So is the Tech Tree version utilising a weapon it shouldn’t, or is it really a mislabled A5/R1 that should also recieve the Hs293 in due course? Logically it could be either, but I hope it’s the latter case.

I think its just because they dont follow the german rursatz designation consistently.

WWI BBs are already vulnerable to anything that can drop a bomb. I sank 3 in one battle with a Fw190F and I didn’t even have the big bomb unlocked!

Heavy guns (5"+) with HE-VT is the Heavy Bombers nightmare scenario. Unfortunately too many ships predate them, or are the wrong country, and so you only option there is to stick next to someone who does use them (and remembers AA exists!). If some WW2 ships are promoted to 7.3+ and replaced by earlier designs the air threat will only get worse at 6.x.

War thunder - Inconsistent…on the same page of the dictionary!

I think there’s still hangovers from the games earlier days when minor differences eg R & U sub-variants, block numbers, etc weren’t considered whereas nowadays the smallest change makes them a valid addition to the ranks.

Am I misremembering? I had 4 engines and two propellors right?

Yeah, that’s what i thought

This is basically a pointless addition, made only to recycle content and to make collectors (and thus the Marketplace) happy

Does this mean that the Hs293 wont be added to any vehicles in the tech tree in the foreseeable future?

Technically the 2 engines were coupeled and build into 1 engine with Twin V Banks. So 2 Engines with 1 Proppeler each. They even recived their own name.

Thanks for clarifying :)

this might be the only time ill buy a battle pass becasue this is epic sauce (unless even more goofy stuff gets put into the battle pass)

My guy both Fritz-X and Hs-293 use Kehl-Strasbourg radio control link - Wikipedia
If a plain can use the Fritz-X it will automatically be able to use the Hs-293

I don’t think the marketplace will be happy about this bomber. It’s just not a good bomber with the missile that will be pretty much useless.

If someone really wants to try similar missile (which is maybe not effective, but definitely an unique experience), they can always buy the Ki-48-II otsu for 3.5 GJN:

Yeah, the price of this vehicle is so bad, because the missile is hard to use and simply not good.

My guy, that is exactly what I said.

The plane should have both or neither, instead the current A-5 is incorrectly modelled either way.

Sorry my bad just read the whole thing yes you are correct the standard A-5 wasn’t able the use both guided weapons until it got the system in the A-5/R1 to R8 what we have in game is a plane missile labelling of the plane bc why give it the Fritz-X and keep it as A5 and not change it to A-5/R
