and im tired of LF mkIX spam. this is the SEVENTH one. the LF mkIX has nothing special left to offer the game, clipping its wings to have a worse STR just means this one isnt even going to be meta, the whole reason to play a LF mkIX.
except
SEAD/nuclear thunder is the first new gamemode in years
submarines have been teased for years, still not here. and naval is all but dead now
infantry is fundamentally a C&P of enlisted but with some reworking (its fun but still not truly new to the gaijin ecosystem)
bombers wont ever be made playable lol
the problems with the game include the copypaste spam.
dont worry im not getting this BP lmao. for the second greek aircraft added to the game this really was a major miss
Hello, I got two questions:
What vehicles are going to be in test drive chests for warbonds? Didnt see this info in post.
And second is quite offtopic but how long (approximately) will it take to finalize april br changes and push them on main client?
Incorrect. The Clipped wing Spitfire LF Mk.9c is not ingame. We have a Clipped and unclipped (weizman) E wing version, and a non-LF unclipped Mk.9c at 4.3, but the Israeli tree still has no IAF Spitfire LF Mk.9c, clipped or unclipped.
What? Excuse me if I’m being rude, but its the 90th anniversary of the Spitfire’s first flight yes… but not even the same month. It just seems like an extra “I’ll throw that in to seem more special” than an actual argumentative point.
It wasn’t one of the key points. Just one of the factors we also keep in mind under our considerations for vehicles too.
As the article details, the main theme of this pass is Greece. The Spitfire being at the forefront of that, it also happens to be a major anniversary too.
BP seasons span several months and don’t always fall on exact dates. But general anniversaries and timeframes of importance are still taken into consideration.
So you actually have multiple different questions that the devs ask for every battlepass? Such as any important dates for any designers/steps in development for the vehicle, dates in battles it participated in, special holidays for countries and stuff like that?
Generally yes. Where tie ins are possible, it will always be up for consideration. Sometimes it might be a major or minor theme. Even just a nod to something via a decal or other means.
When we can have full independent events for something, that is also a consideration too. But due to other planned events, spesific dates or times of the year may not always align. This one however was primarily a Greek focus. But other factors play in too.
I appreciate the transparency there. The community is still after more unique vehicles however. We do appreciate the Greek focus but we would rather have something like a Schofield tank than just another Spitfire. My hunch is that the devs are busy working on other things at the moment like the new game modes and dont have all the time in the world to put towards the battlepass. Are you able to confirm/deny this or no?
disagree. This shouldnt even be an individual addition at all. Clipped wings should just be a preset on all spitfires from the mkV until the mk22. C or E wing doesnt really matter either as both as universal wings that share the same preferable gun loading
we have two LF mkIX models already in the UK tree. israel has two already. this will be the seventh added to the game.
the LF mkIX is heavily overrepresented in game too. its a rare variation of the mark 9. the most common spitfire was the mark 5, with about 6500 units produced, we have five in game, two less than the LF.
variants wise its decent as we have the Vb and Vc in standard and tropicalised form with both the 4x browning 2x hispano and 4x hispano gun loads.
Only one appears outside the UK tree as a Vb trop in italy. as the most common spit it would have made sense for the USA and USSR spitfires to have been mark 5 variants as they did recieve and use them (i have found no proof of the USA or USSR recieving a LF mkIX at all)
TLDR LF mkIX is spammed too much to still be special. gaijin, be better, represent better
Since we’re talking about incorrections of Spitfire Mk.9Cs ingame, and Israel, (these two spitfires I mention here are related as you’ll see later, I promise I’m not going off topic lmao) might be an interesting time to mention that this spitfire in the Israeli tree is completely fake btw:
Israel only ever operated Spitfire LF Mk.9s with the Merlin 66, they never had any Merlin 61s to begin with. Author Alex Yofe, an Israeli Air Force Historian of sorts, created a book called “Spitfire Mk.IX in the Israeli Air Force service” which contains hundreds of pictures of their Spitfire Mk.9s.
The Merlin-66 engine is the only one mentioned in this book, and on top of that not a single left side image of a spitfire depicts a lack of the Merlin-66 bump. And ofc, not a single image exists anywhere of a IAF spitfire with an intake of that design. It has the exact same incorrect intake thing the battlepass Greek spitfire here has. Gaijin likely has their info wrong on the Mk.9s as I’ve never seen anything that suggests otherwise.
I’ve held off on sharing this for awhile since it’s Israel’s only 4.3 aircraft and a historical correction would send it up to 6.0, but with the Greek subtree on the horizon I think it’s about time I did share this since it can just be replaced by a Greek one someday. If gaijin doesn’t like historically inaccurate planes as thy say, this needs the correct intake, and the correct engine to be applied. Once this is done it would sit at 6.0, which is where the LF Mk.9s are going after the BR changes. Me when the plane right after Sakeen would be 6.0/5.7 💀
