BAe Sea Harrier - Technical data and discussion

Its next to impossible to dogfight without head tracking. Just use open track its free.

??

I’m so jealous. Recently my laptop stopped working (won’t explain how) and the guy that fixed it said that he could only put in more RAM. I hope to get a PC with a Magic Mage one day soon

Head tracking via the webcam. It marks the points of your face. Than translates that into game XYZ positions.

@Gunjob

would you be able to suggest to the devs that selecting Aim-9Ls should also select AAM sight mode? (like it does with bombs)

Currently. When you switch from bombs to Aim-9Ls. It switches from bomb mode to standard mode. You can now actually access AAM mode, but requires cycling through all other sight modes to do so, not ideal when in a dogfight

(especially on the FA2, as selecting AMRAAM or Aim-9M switches back to standard mode, so you are constantly having to cycle through sight modes, which isnt too bad if you dont have a gunpod, but awkward if you do)

That and the HUDs visual model needs to be changed.

Compare that to the tiny screen in game.

A lot of distortion in that image, so it isn’t massively clear. But could try a bug report

Could do the HUD is nearly as tall as the entire front windscreen.

Me sad pictures can be deceiving.

I know you said the Devs where working on the gunsight, is there anymore news about that?

My report for the Sea Harriers being able to carry 1000lb bombs on their outer wing pylons still hasn’t been passed sadly.

It’s odd as the Sea Harrier FA.2 can do it, but not the FRS.1 despite there being photographic proof that both can. The FA.2 is also lacking the dual bomb racks for the inner pylons, its all a bit confusing.

Not related at all I just thought I’d bring it up

Loadouts seem to be a wierdly secondary consideration at the moment, even though there are plenty of “easy” implementations possible.

  • Like no ePaveway IIs on the Typhoon and possibly Gr7
  • No Napalm on the Buc S2 or Sea Vixen
  • No 540lb retarded bombs on most airframes
  • no twin bomb carriers on the FA2 (as found on the FRS1)

The Lightning F.53 is also missing dual 1,000lb bomb racks (4,000lb total) and possibly napalm.

That would give it enough bombs to take out a base, making it actually a useful attacker.

If the Sea Harriers had their full bomb load, they could carry 7,000lb of bombs, which would be amazing for such a small aircraft
