Im pretty sure they will add it in the mean time, it.might come on the tech tree.
The Harriers 2s underperform in turn rate.
The Day Attack Harrier II would be perfect in the TT. Slightly worse engine, less CMs, maybe slightly lower in BR.
Do a bug report plz, i need my Harrier to dogfight like an angel. My fav plane by far 😍
Did they also already carry targeting pods, or were only the NA’s equipped with them? Could be an argument to get lower BR than the AV-8B (NA) variant…
I did however the source I have was apparently restricted so it was shut down. What I can tell you is that at .7 Mach the IRL AV-8B NA can sustain almost 5G at 5000 feet at over 20,000 lbs weight. With combat thrust 60% ish throttle in game when you work out the RPM of the engine. In game they will not even sustain 4G so its missing over 1 G turn performance.
Can the UK get any of its Harriers first, and along with that them fixing the ones we do have. The UK did create the Harrier after all.
Honestly a Harrier with 9X, 120C and HMD sounds fantastic. But if we do ever see it in-game I hope it’s either foldered with the AV-8B+ or is a mod for the current AV-8B+ but equipping the mod would adjust it’s BR accordingly.
Oh, I just know that AV-8B (aka Day Attack) armed AIM-9M (AIM-9M-7 model) since desert storm imao 😌
AV-8B basic (aka Day Attack) not equipped AN/AAQ-28 Litening II targeting pod until post Night Attack 1999 ~ early 2010’s
If I’m not wrong AV-8B from desert shield and desert storm armed AGM-65E Maverick (not AGM-65E2), dumb bomb, unguided rocket and Paveway II laser guided bomb (GBU-12D/B & GBU-16B/B)
But none FLIR and targeting pod
Can anyone do some sustained turn rate tests for me with the AV-8B na
Full internal fuel 4xaim9 and full gun ammo at sea level
Also use 81% throttle
Made a bug report for the AV-8B+/NA and Harrier GR.7 missing NAVFLIR HUD capabilities.

My first time making a bug report like this so hopefully it’s fine to be accepted.
Hey,
You’re report is for two different features, as such needs to be broken into two reports, to that end we have a report for Harrier GR7 for its FLIR HUD Overlay and for the target cues. I will expand that to cover the AV-8B series as well.
Cheers
Ah right, I thought since both are a part of NAVFLIR that they could go in the same report.
But if you have a report anyway for NAVFLIR I’ll leave it at that then. Just hope we see it added in the future.

Please don’t link to that manual it is export restricted.
Yeah I’ll say it here publicly, that’s absolutely my bad, I had no idea about the state of that document and had no idea I couldn’t post a link to said document.
But the availability of stuff like that document online is really confusing since it is declassified and can be found at the top of the Google results page but it still being export restricted and thus Gaijin just can’t posses it. They really need to put in big red letters “Export Restricted” or anything to make it clear without uncertainty whether or not you can talk about it even though it can be found in seconds with a simple google search. I’m honestly not surprised with how many people accidently do this with declassified but export restricted stuff. (Not talking about the people posting fully classified stuff that has obviously come from a leak since you can’t just stumble upon it from Google are just idiots.)
I nearly had a heart attack with this. Thought any second I’d be shot dead by CIA or get my house bombed. But thank you @Gunjob for explaining things.
Again my apologies.
The is a full documentary that goes over it however lmao. In the documentary is full HUD video footage during a training sortie.
Here is part of the video when in “FLIR HUD” mode on the MFD and camera.
Here is a Gr.3 hud for the fun of it.
Alrighty, so a few questions surrounding the last Harrier II model not added for the US: the AV-8B Day Attack.
- Did the AV-8B Day Attack have a different cockpit to the Night Attack and Plus, or was it the same?
(possible cockpit image, though this is the only one I’ve found thus far)
Spoiler
- I read that up until 1990, the Harrier IIs had a less powerful engine, that being the F402-RR-406. After 1990, Harrier IIs got the more powerful RR-408. Were any of the Day Attack Harrier IIs equipped with this engine?
Probably a different cockpit with a single MFD like the Boeing archive image you have there.
bigger version of your image
With the UK’s Harrier II’s, the right-hand MFD wasn’t added until the GR.7 version, which was the UK analogue to the AV-8B NA where Harrier got a FLIR on the nose.
The GR.5 (analogue to AV-8B DA) had a single-function circular moving map display instead of the MFD
The Mk408 was fitted on the Night attack and up. As far as I know no day attack harriers had the Mk408. This is sort of confirmed in the Tactics manual however I have been told that manual is NATO restricted and I can not post it.
They day attack and Gr.5 had the Mk406 and Mk105 respectively.
The Gr.7 in game is a very early model of it with most Gr.7 had 100% LERX and the Mk107 making them the Gr.7A model.
Regardless of all that every Harrier 2 is missing extreme amounts of Max AOA achievable at every given airspeed. They all take to long to climb and are too slow.
Even the mythical “VIFF” has zero function in game.
