AV-8B Harrier II: History, Performance and Discussion

That’s just a sidewinder control panel.

But it does state plain as day that there are 4 missile stations so you might have a case for it.

Guys, am I going crazy, or did the layout for the AV-8C’s CMDs change on the model?

Yeah they got changed but apparently aren’t right

Yeah, spoke with Matrix + looked at the bug report on it
I don’t think I’ve ever seen Gaijin misinterpret a bug report so badly that they accidentally turn a plane even more ahistorical to what it originally was in-game lol

If its got anything to do with the Harrier gaijin will go out of their way to make it worse.

The intermediate triple bomb track should not be limited to 2 bombs

Also found this, the Chaff/flare dispenser door is open and you can see them in a row.

Good god, that underside is covered in soot

Yes different fuel types where used.

I forget but AVCAT or AVTUR caused it to have a semi sooty exhaust bc it was a dirty fuel. This was also the fuel used to power the Invincible class carriers, so it made sense the jets use the same stuff.

Still nowhere near the soot we have in game.

So, a new book of mine about the Harrier (specifically in reference to liveries/camo schemes) finally arrived. While I found nothing new regarding actual photos of the AV-8C’s CMDs, I did come across this fascinating image of an AV-8C in a very unique temporary camouflage (using water-based paints)…

Any info about AGM-122 on AV-8B+ (Radar)?

Sidearm. They all could but it was bad.

It was a novel capability though it’s not like a Harrier was set up to use the Shrike, ST-ARM, or HARM.

Sure it had a short range but with a memory circuit it was more then enough to provide SEAD and was done on the cheap, recapitalizing retiring the AIM-9C hardware. It was more than the Marine’s could ever have asked for. Since it doesn’t otherwise impact A2G store carriage.

I’m personally more surprised at this point that nobody’s actually put a Anti-Radar seeker on a JDAM or Hellfire, though there was an an attempt to put one on the Stinger with the ADMS.
