The Rafale B fighter jets will arrive in February-March 2026.
Air Force Chief of Staff (KSAU) Marshal Tonny Harjono revealed that six Rafale fighter jets ordered from France will begin strengthening the Indonesian Air Force fleet in 2026.
Deliveries will be made in stages, starting with three aircraft scheduled to arrive in February or March 2026.
“Around February or March next year, the first three Rafales will arrive, then the next three units will follow three months later,” said Tonny after leading the Indonesian Air Force Leadership Meeting at Mabesau, Cilangkap, East Jakarta, as quoted by Kompas.com, Monday (3/2/2025).
Meanwhile, as reported by Kompas.com, Wednesday (21/9/2022), the Spokesperson for the Minister of Defense, then held by Dahnil Anzar Simanjuntak, confirmed that the purchase contract for six Rafale fighter jets had officially come into effect on September 9, 2022.
This isnt where i got the info from but it shows the same info. Honestly forgot where ive read it. It could’ve been mentioned by Lembaga KERIS or someone mentioned it in a defence forum somewhere, cant remember.
Singapore? SG does mainly operates F-16s and F-15s. If you’re asking about Indonesia, only the Meteor is confirmed to be acquired in the contract so far.
I don’t think there will be significant changes, so far it seems that Indonesia’s Rafale will be standard F.4s, no individualized ones.
I will ofc add information when there is smth to share.
At the moment they have signed contract for Meteor
There’s no credible source for Piranha I’m afraid, Wikipedia cited a random web as the source, and the web only say that EMB 314 has the capability to carry Piranha
Also in this EMB 314 armaments display, there’s no IR missiles
99% rafale deal include mica, meteor contract is separated because it is not a french missile but european one with differents countries having a say on it.
And i doubt indonesia paid to modify rafale to be able to use with for example 9x, python 5 or mica ng.
i suppose, its just the then KASAU said we’re buying it but something mustve changed during the time of delivery
The procurement of the Brazilian aircraft is separate from the weapons systems. “We can make weapons like bombs ourselves. We use them. But we can’t make Piranha missiles yet, so we have to buy them,” he said in Jakarta on Sunday, August 5, 2012.
it doesn’t hurt to speculate, especially considering we’re possibly gonna get an influx of Turkish missiles in the coming decade. Having two different Fox 1, 2 and 3s seems pretty bad from a logistics standpoint, but hey its the TNIAU we’re talking about here
It has been more than a decade after we bought them and yet we never saw them with any AAM, and if they do have them but make it a secret, I don’t see why IR missiles for COIN plane should be a secret (if it’s a napalm or cluster munitions I would understand though), so I’m more of skeptical that we have Piranha
