ASEAN Founders Aviation Sub-Tree

Not necessarily a picture of an F-5S, but I do have a picture of an F-5T, the two seat variant of the F-5S

It was one of 5 Singaporean F-5s Thailand received for use in their own F-5T/TH upgrade program. This included three two-seat F-5Ts and two single-seat F-5S. As of now, only the fate of this aircraft on display is known.

This also makes Thailand a contended for nation with the most distinct F-5 variants, considering Thailand had the F-5A, F-5C, F-5E, F-5E (FCU), F-5S, F-5T (SCU) and F-5TH (TCU), as well as their respective twin-seat counterparts in the F-5B, F-5F, F-5F (FCU), F-5T F-5TF (SCU) and F-5THF (TCU).

I like F-5 too, but not at 13.0.

It’s radar is theoretically capable of guiding them, it’s yet to be seen using them or stated to use them.

If the later Thai, Brazilian, or Chilean ones show up we could get ones beyond 13.0…

T-50i & T-50TH

A symbol of strong air force cooperation between Thailand and Indonesia is demonstrated through the combined exercise Elang ThaiNesia XX/25, conducted in the southern northeastern region of Thailand, using Wing 1 Air Base in Nakhon Ratchasima Province as the main operating base, from June 9 to 19, 2025.

Subtree or full, it would bring quite a few new vehicles

I’d prefer if it could be independent (if it’s strong enough) but if not, a subtree will do.

I just realized something, Indo (or Malindo if they wanna include small RMAF roster as well, pretty much my delusional mind here) can just opt out F-5E as Thai line has a better offerings and instead in with T-50i and Hawk 200 so there’s least of copypaste issue on that specific BR (maybe 11.3-12.3 since they will at least need AIM-9P-4 and AIM-9L), and equal A2G choices as the SCU has

and funny enough I think T-50 may have lower BR than Hawk 200 (or close) as T-50 could carry 2 IR AAM’s instead of 4 on Hawk 200 (well until the Blk20 FA-50 is coming)

So is the the ASEAN sub tree confirmed?
Is it Going to be a Sub TT for Japan?

Nothing is confirmed about these nations besides Thailand so far.

I am not sure. It’s possible, but some of these nations seem somewhat controversial, namely Singapore and Malaysia.

I think it’s likely to see Indonesia eventually, similar to how many other nations have two subtree nations currently, but that’s just speculation.

I think so, Thailand and Japan haven’t enough things to full the tree, the Indonesia will be a good choices.

I feel as tho singapore might go to israel tbh

i’d much prefer ASEAN stay as a whole, and go to Japan.

japanese su-30s will be hilarious. does the Malaysian one get r-77-1s?

From what I’ve seen it’s only the R-77, not the R-77-1

I posted this in the sub TT folder suggestion.
It was my layout for sub tt

it would require major tt rework plus some of sub tt lacks of several early rank tier vehicles

I could see this working for pc players or mouse users but I feel it would be quite sluggish with controllers if you wanted to keep switching subtrees, maybe it could have a key bind to swap?

Barring Switzerland, India and Thailand most subtrees has at least some low tier vehicles. Not to mention that all subtrees still have plenty to add across several tiers. I do agree in the needed effort to accommodate this feature, though it could have a nice payoff.

in this topic context, example like Indonesia and Philippines at least have something started at Rank 3 or 4 like Ki-84, Ki-61, and some Mustangs. While others like Malaysia and Singapore didn’t have prop tier planes and starts of at rank 5 or 6 (given prior to independence both didn’t have a proper air force and the British (along with Australia) doing the air policing for them)

That should be fine because if ASEAN Is blocked into one subtree, then they can get low and high tier vehicles without as much gaps (besides Japan has a strong in game plan roster low tier and still can get much better)
