Apparently the Philippines plan to buy up to 20 new F-16 Block 70/72 (16x C, 4x D) along with AIM-120C-8, AIM-9X-II, EW systems, spare parts and guided bombs of different types.

while that’s a good addition but may be out of subtree option for now like the F-15EX

speaking of Philippines

also I assume the F-5A on thai tree may get phil air force livery(but could also be within US tree too)? nvm it’s on US premium F-5C

wasn’t it leaked before that the F-2A was delayed last patch? I would presume its the most likely option

Found this image of the Hawk53 with its armament laid out, hopefully this can fill out the armament sections of it

so I guess it would be FFAR, small cluster munnition (?) and bombs

(and balloons if we’re counting that as well)

also slightly unrelated but here is also the armament images of the IL-28

Technically not a plane but the Philippine Navy’s AW-159 Wildcats are now confirmed to carry Spike NLOS missiles just like their ROK counterpart. It can also carry Blueshark Torpedoes and .50 cal mg as a side mount. Back then only the radar for the Spike NLOS was seen to be mounted on it but this is now definite confirmation.

yeah, no new subtree for Japan on this upcoming one even with F-2A getting added

Honestly glad, because any subtree would’ve overshadowed the F-2 majorly.

With the R2Y2s now removed, the line ends at rank 3 now, hopefully they bring an ASEAN mix to the branch, ideally with Indonesia, Singapore and Philippines as the main ones, but maybe they’ll only go for one nation and if that’s the case the one I’d pick would be Indonesia given the potential it has for the future

I think so, and Indonesia is the least controversial. nothing like Singapore.

Indonesian Il-28 and Tu-16 just so Japan has bombers beyond the G8N1, maybe sprinkle in some maritime aircraft in there.

Maybe after the R2Y2 line can be replaced with a strike aircraft line starting with the Thai A-37B, then continuing on to a mix of Malaysian and Indonesian Hawks, then either a Malaysian or Indonesian A-4 Skyhawk, then Indonesian T-50i and Filipino FA-50PH foldered as one, then the Malaysian TA-50 Block 20 after it.

Id prefer to keep it as NATO as possible but I wouldnt mind the Su-27s and Su-30s as premiums or event vehicles. That way Japanese and Thai vehicles actually get placed on the tech tree.

Yeah I’d keep it as western as possible, keeping the Indonesian MiGs away for events or a potential lower BR squadron jet, they share some jets of the same model or spec with Thailand like the F-16eMLU and their FA-50s are very similar to the more basic Thai ones so gaijin could just bring those for example and make them Thai and just add an Indonesian skin, but it’s their future that’s very promising with the Rafale F4 ordered and the F-15EX (designated 15IDN iirc) that’s awaiting approval, and they’re involved with the KF-21 as well so even down to the stealth era

I would also like to take this time to share some news. KAI has officially confirmed that the Philippine Air Force is ordering a new batch of 12 FA-50 Block 20s (Similar to the Malaysian order).

Deliveries however are expected by 2030 so quite far. I guess this is because of the recent uptick of orders for the FA-50 from other customers. Still with the Malaysian FA-50 Block 20s, we can expect to see its capability by next year which should feature BVR capabilities with a new AESA radar, and expanded possible ground munitions.

Regarding the possible acquisition of F-16Vs for our MRF program, thats still unclear since despite the US clearing the sales for it to the Philippines, according to the PH ambassador to the US, there isnt enough funds to allocate for its acquisition. As far as the defense chief is concerned, the Dept. of National Defense has yet to actually choose which platform they should get, either the Gripen E or the F-16V so in their eyes, they cant even begin to consider the allocation of a budget for it.

Probably better to wait until 2030 lol (im laughing here but im actually crying)

No Singaporean F-5S :(

I hear it gets access to amraams, a better radar and rwr as well as has the IHQ package for better handling. Would be a cool 13.0

Sadly i dont know any other improvements to it, regarding a HMS, more CMs, or even uprated engines.

Would love to see it in game regardless! :D

(Any F-5S pictures, brochures abt its upgrade or specifications would be welcome!)
