ASEAN Founders Aviation Sub-Tree

i dont recall there was ever any changes to the Il-28Us (could be wrong)

I think it being a substitute is more likely, but we wont know for certain

in regards to the lack of torps, its the Air Force’s display not the Navy’s, so that kinda explains why they dont have a torpedo ready on standby.

And honestly id much rather have the Il-28T since it would be capable of carrying both standard ordinance or the torps (plus it would be a different model as well)

Agreed but mostly because we don’t have the Il-28T in game and the USSR already has an analogue in the form of the Tu-14 with the possible compliments of their jet flying boats

I could see them finally adding the Su-30MK2 on the tech tree with Indonesia, and Indonesia has more of those than the 27SKM at the moment too. Besides it could be like I said, I don’t know which RWR the SKM is supposed to have but if it retained the SPO-15 it’ll just be a slightly worse J-11A because the 11A at least has MAWS. I’d rather have a lower BR Su-30 for free which would be pretty much like the Venezuelan one

su-27skm has l-150 so its fine
su-27skm demonstrator “305”

as you can see in this image from flight manual, su-27 with spo-15 does not have these tips on the wings

also its product page says it can guide kh-31p missiles which only l-150 can do and not spo-15lm

Good to know that it doesn’t have the SPO-15, that would’ve been a big letdown, then I suppose either of them can be added, I do like the single seat Flankers more but I’d also like to see the earlier Su-30 that’s not a premium and present as a regular vehicle in one of the trees

no indication for minor addition for Japan air yet it seems

“Something for everyone to enjoy” does at least imply there will be something, only question is what it could be. Maybe filling in one or two aircraft at lower BRs for Malaysia since those were entirely skipped before.

tbf the tree did just get 4 high-tier jets last major update, so if there was any new addition it wouldnt be something like a whole new line

Exactly what I thought about saying, but you nailed it, yeah I could see maybe a jet to bridge the gap at lower BRs, maybe a tech tree Hawk or maybe something Indonesian on the old R2Y2 line but not quite top tier, I’d like to see a Lim 5 come up and start getting us ready for the future but usually gaijin brings a whole line at once, would be cool though

Got bored, making a similar version.

Differences;

¬ With the addition of Rank 9, it looks like Gaijin really wants Rank 8 to be 2 tiles vertically. The F-15J Folder comes in the next major, as does F-5/F-16
¬ F-4EJ Kai ADTW added in the TT which does go against the theme of all ADTW being Premiums, but I think its a fair one.
¬ Someone mentioned that the Su-27SKM could in reality go down to 13.3. With how BRs are right now, thats plausible but I’m keeping it at 13.7 for now.
¬ F-15JSI added, obviously for the future. Same with the Thai JAS39E (hence marked with !!). I left the Rafale C F4 out of as I have it as B/C. The B is in service with Indonesia, the C is not.
¬ F-16A OCU, removed incorrect AMRAAMs. The 13.7 F-16 can be replaced with a Thai F-16AM/BM (foldered with JAS39C) or F-16C/D Block 52IDN (after Su-27 folder).

Note: I don’t expect all of these to come. It’d be sweet, but this is all the possible ones as far as I’m aware. I left out the T-50/FA-50 as I wasn’t really sure if it’d fit in Rank 7 and where.
Speaking of Rank 7, I want to work Rank 6/7 a little bit aswell but my main knowledge sits with Rank 8/9 vehicles.

Edits

V1 → V1.1
¬ Rename of the “*F-16AM/C” to “*F-16AM” to represent the Thai F-16AM.
¬ Addition of “*F-16C/D IDN” to represent the Indonesian F-16C/D Block 52s.

V1.1 → V1.1A
¬ Roles added to aircraft. F-15JSI is designated as an “Interceptor” (as it literally is “F-15 Japanese Super Interceptor”)

The single-seater will most likely be arriving later on in the year as a part of the 2nd batch, relatively its not too far off

In regards to this i have a suggestion in pending for it, but yeah it would essentially be at the very top BR considering its armament

List
  • Primary Cannon
    • 20mm M61A1 Vulcan
  • Air-to-Air Missiles
    • AIM-120C-7 AMRAAM
    • AIM-9P-4/P-5 Sidewinder
    • AIM-9X-2 Sidewinder
  • Air-to-Surface Munitions
    • AGM-65G/K2 Mavericks
    • GBU-38 JDAM (GPS) (mk82)
    • GBU-54 LJDAM (Laser) (mk82)
    • AN/AAQ-33 SNIPER targeting pod
    • Mark12 360kg dumb bombs
    • Mark81 250lbs dumb bombs
    • Mark82 500lbs dumb bombs
    • [Domestic] 125kg BT-125 dumb bombs
    • [Domestic] 250kg BT-250 dumb bombs
    • [Domestic] 250kg BNT-250 dumb bombs
    • [Domestic] 500kg BT-500 dumb bombs
(based on TNIAU's words) As well as technically having the capabilities to carry
  • Air-to-Air Missiles
    • AIM-9L/M Sidewinder
    • IRIS-T Missile
  • Air-to-Surface Missiles
    • LANTIRN targeting pod
    • Mark83 1000lbs dumb bombs
    • Mark84 2000lbs dumb bombs
    • AGM-84 Harpoon ASM (Indonesia technically has the RGM-84 but its for ship-launch only)
    • AGM-88 HARM

Though of course none of the armament on the second part is being operated by the TNIAU

the problem with it is that its essentially a block 25 airframe so dunno how it would fare against the rest of the newer airframes, but it is an option nevertheless

Maybe it’d be a similar BR as the F-16I? It really depends on what armament they put on it as they could easily give it just AIM-120B + AIM-9M because of technical compatibility. If they give it C-5/C-7s then it could be 14.0 but it’d still be Rank 8 probably. The F-16I Sufa next update is still Rank 8 (folder below F-15I Ra’am).
^also despite the fact JAS39E is 14.0, it is Rank 9 in the Swedish tree hence why it is Rank 9 in my model.

worse engine since it only has the PW 220E compared to the Sufa’s 229, but it has same radar (APG-68v9)

but yeah i agree its entirely depends on what they want to give the loadout for it

FA-50M would fit in Rank 8 most likely give AIM-120 to it, tho probably foldered into MiG-29N, not sure as 13.3 or 13.7 as it will have AESA

T-50i in other hand maybe 11.7/12.0 as it only carries AIM-9P-4(or P5 if gaijin willing to) and only 2 max

tho then again might be on hold likely until United Korean tree become a thing or else some people will get mad it’ll come to Japan before Korean tree materialized

also the Rafale naming convention for Indonesia probably as DI/EI, like other operators with their own suffix ie. DM/EM (Egypt), DH/EH (India), DQ/EQ (Qatar), DG/EG (Greece), DC/EC (Croatia)(though seems not used much as Croatian Rafales are from existing French ones instead of newly built)

When it comes doesn’t bother me really, this is a concept tree in a way afterall :)

Love your rendition, honestly I’d like to see the Su-30MK2 in a tech tree though, currently Indonesia is the only hope, although I do like the single seater Flankers more so either that or SKM will make me happy

I put the MK2 as a prem following patterns, but I believe there’s still a Su-30MK missing from Indonesia anyways. Not sure how different it is to the MK2 though.

ID has 2 version, Chinese-specific MKK (the prem in the CN tree w/o chinese missiles) but w/ refueling probe, and the MKK2 (MK2) (Venezuelan prem in RU tree)

  • Prototype design was prepared in 1998-1999 in KnAAPO as converted serial Su-27UB - it was very quick process, because a design of airframe was adopted from Su-27SK and Su-27M. Su-30MKK incorporated, without changes, Su-27M centre wing section, wing panels, air intakes, tail beams, fins and landing gear and the Su-27SK tail-end fuselage assemblies. Only nose part was new designed.
  • January 2003 was signed contract for 24 x Su-30MK2 (sometimes called Su-30MKK2), upgraded version of Su-30MKK (weapons and equipment systems configuration) with antiship weapons. First six aircrafts were delivered between February and June 2004, one was destroyed in March 2004. They carry antiship missiles Kh-29MA and are in PLANAF inventory, Changsha air base. Contract was fully realised. Contract for next batch was canceled in 2006 (aircrafts were quickly sold do Venezuela).

details of it im not entirely certain as well, but thats the gist of the difference

Hopefully we see all this stuff, if so then Japan is poised to be one of the strongest trees in the game, hell I’d say it already is

aaaaand that’s never going to happen, because Gaijin isn’t interested in one single nation having the top-tier aircraft of almost every nation
