Artillery Strike Phonetic Alphabets are Incorrect for WWII Vehicles

Artillery Strikes have been in War Thunder for quite a while now, and part of the experience is having your crew call out the coordinates, Alpha, Bravo, Charlie, etc. However, the phonetic alphabet for low tier vehicles is incorrect, as the NATO Phonetic Alphabet wasn’t standard until the formation of NATO (I know, right). For example the United States used Able, Baker, Charlie, and Dog for ABC and D during WWII for their phonetic alphabet, while the RAF used Ace, Beer, Charlie, and Don for the same set of letters.
To remedy this, Gaijin could potentially record a set of phonetic alphabet callouts for low tier, and implement them until BR ~7.0.

Nah, wont happen, they are to lazy 💀🥀

Able baker Charlie dog easy

I would guess this was a game design choice since not many would know the older version.

But it would be a cool addition if added in a way that’s either a choice for the player (like a “Era specific voice lines” setting) or used mostly in sim or maybe even realistic but not arcade (in the same way arcade uses the language set for the game as the default voice language regardless of nation played if voice lines are set to auto).

If you want to create a suggestion for it you can do that in the suggestion section here on the forum. That section is however pre-moderated and only posts that follow their rules and guidelines will get posted and it can take a couple of weeks for a post to get reviewed for publication. If it gets accepted and made public it then has a chance to get sent to the developers as a suggestion later on.
