Archer - 155 MM FH 77 BW L52

ah the high tier flak 8,8cm. +1 lets get it

Sadly, at least afaik, only the .50 has actually been fitted. So while possible, any such change would have to be according to Gaijin’s whims. The prototype however did feature a variant of Protector with smoke grenade launchers and was proposed with Bofors Lemur with a 30 mm M230, although the latter combination was never actually mounted. One of the trial guns (before the prototypes) also featured a Bofors Lemur as an alternate RWS option. Might make suggestions for them in the future

It’s a bit hard to tell, but this could potentially be one mounting the 40 mm based on the ammo box being both a lot larger than the ones for the 12.7 or 7.62, and it being placed perpendicular to the barrel which matches how the Mk 19 often has it’s ammo box placed compared to how the 12.7 and 7.62 often having the ammo box placed parallel with the barrel. The muzzle at the end of the barrel also matches the Mk 19 since it’s a lot bigger than the muzzle of the M2.

99% sure that’s the Protector mount, just that the perspective that makes it look odd

That’s definately the Protector
There are some pics where the RWS looks different tho, both have probably been used

Scratch that, i was thinking about something else

I meant to say .50 cal in the Protector mount rather than 40 mm AGL but yes. Most images of the trial guns are with the Bofors Lemur RWS. It was only later on when most of the initial testing was already done that Norway joined the project and the switch to the Protector was made, as seen in the above pictures. The Lemur was never put on the prototypes or later Archers however

Definite add for both the British and Swedish trees! Especially now the British Army officially donated its last AS-90, this is the only SPH it uses.

Highly unique with its automated loading system/21rd magazine, hope to see soon +1

+1 Would help pave the way for other artillery like the bohdana.

i completely agree, although i feel a well-placed HE shell would do the job

Weird but awesome, looks like its from Halo. +1

+1 It’s certainly a unique artillery truck and always want unique vehicles ingame

I’m pretty sure it could also use a 40mm. Could be wrong. Anyhoo yes pls +1

As much as I’d like to see it it would be utterly useless.

I believe you are thinking of the Tridon uses a similar yet older Volvo heavy-industries 6x6 rock-truck frame. Currently passed to devs (I would really love to see it)

The doom truck might find lots of love in game. I don’t think it would be OP as people think.

Well on the archers Wikipedia page it says it could use an L/70 I thought

Wikipedia isn’t the best place to get your information from. Try something like Jane’s AaA, much more reputable source with a much, much higher likelihood of being right.

IIRC, the Archer uses a much newer Volvo chassis, the older TRIDON uses a Volvo BM chassis, while the new TRIDON uses a Scania truck.

are you perhaps thinking about the RWS with the 40mm AGL?

Perhaps. I don’t know what it is LOL

+1 but only as an event vehicle or at the very most a foldered vehicle to the Bkan 1C line with an appropriate BR for it’s thermal sight, it’s usability is limited due to the restricted angle of it’s gun traverse coupled with a wheeled chassis, 85 degrees to each side is pretty brutal.
