Tornado F.3 (EF.3), GR.1, Harrier GR.7 and i believe more can carry ALARM
Tornado GR.1 and Harrier GR.7 are forced into BRs where they WILL be fighting the top SPAAs, (britain lacks an 11.3 lineup for the GR.1 to be used at)
This comes with further critisism, as the Su-39, Su-25T, Su-24M, Su-17M4 and Su-22M4 all recieve ARMs at 11.3 too.
And MiG-27M AND MiG-27K both have ARMs at 11.0
So. Why can’t the Torando GR.1, Tornado F.3 (It would have to be EF.3, but small modifications to allow for stuff have been made before, See Tornado GR.1B, Jaguar GR.1B and 2S6M1), or Harrier GR.7 recieve ALARM, or other appropiate Anti-Radiation missile (Such as HARM)
Nothing prevents them from taking mixed loadout, and hard countering sole vehicle class that can threaten modern jets spells disaster in my book but oh well.
One thing to add with this actually, they should separate out SR/TR on these labels so we know which radars it can engage specifically to avoid confusion with, say, a pantsir that has its SR off and is therefore untargetable.
Good but also ridiculous in the current format for GRB. Look at the GRB maps size. Reason i stopped playing this game mode, it feels like a vehicle themed COD deathmatch.
How are these going to work in air battles. At the moment there are very few vehicles equipped with radar that would be targeted and there ade two issues with them.
First they shoot down in coming munitions, this is a problem because you’re not carrying enough in an air battle to over saturate the SPAA defense, and have enough AAMs to be combat effective in air battles.
The second issue is the lack of points these targets would give. An SPAA kill in air battles will maybe give you an exfra 100 points. There is no incentive to actually use these weapons in an air battle when you get nore points just from being shot down compared to hitting these targets.
On a somewhat related not., I know the devs said they are working on adding naval targets to this list and giving them means to defend themselves, and i have major concerns about this. Naval targets as they are now in air battles are extremely difficult to kill, especially woth guilded munitions. I dont think I have seen anyone successfully sink a naval vessle with a guilded missles of amy kind, nore have I managed to myself, and its not from a lack of trying. These ships having the ability to extinguish fires and plug breaches in the hull make theyre survivability really high. If these ships are given the ability to defend themselves from incoming munitions they’ll be practically unkillable by guilded munitions.
Theres also the issue of score with naval targets. 150 points for a naval ship is laughably low.
they only other weapons the sufa used in the sead role was Rampages(will never be added), deilahs(will never be added) and popeyes.(stuck in suggestion hell)
this is pretty much the first it got a proper ARM
hopeffuly if they ever add it itl be in both ARM and EO(same as the spices)
These feature are not locked only to nuclear thunder, so it is understandable why people also talking about them in context of air battle and ground battle
there are more than enough threads in the dev category pointing out the massive problems and dumb decisions related to the nuclear thunder implementation.
Saying “play more carefully” is meaningless when SEAD planes cant do SEAD unless actively getting fired upon, which in case of NT means being within 8km distance against pantsirs you cant even detect on a lot of planes like F16s (search radar is down and track radar is K band)
Idk if I have enough buttons left to keybinds these to 😂
General question for anyone that knows. If a HARM is shot at an aircraft with its radar on, do they get any sort of RWR warning?
I agree, and there are problems to be had with the SHORAD, but the longer range systems are not threatening and if you just stay high you’re practically safe.
