No, stingers should not being facing early-coldwar and WW2 aircraft. Stingers should be 10.0 minimum.

We already have equipment from the middle of the Cold War on 8.0, and from the Gulf War and Afghanistan on 9.0.

That’s like saying the Abrams should be 4.3 cause it was made in the same year as the Concept 3. Just because there’s a few mid-late coldwar vehicles at 8.0 doesn’t mean we need modern SAMs at 8.0.

The Stinger is not a modern SAM.
In service: 1989–present.
There’s mig21F13 at 9.3. The craft that cannot hold speed to pull multiple stingers and cannot CAP effectively nor survive properly compared to a 100sp AA lol

So when do you consider a weapon that’s → still being used ← to not be modern? Is the F-22 modern? it’s nearly 30 years old afterall.
Regardless, year of creation isn’t what people are talking about 99% of the time when they say “early/mid/late coldwar”. What they’re talking about is → the capability of the vehicle ← . Concept 3 is still considered a WW2 vehicle by most despite being built in 1980, because it’s built using WW2 technology and has WW2 capabilities.
I can’t believe I just explained the most obvious common sense fact to a forum user.
