The F-15I only ever got 229 engines, hence why it’s coming to the game with them. We are arguing that the F-15E should get them too. It’s either the F-15E gets them or doesn’t, there is no changing whether the F-15I gets them.
Currently mavericks also are underperforming in how fast they are. A bug report was made and passed to the devs. Hopefully it gets fixed soon but probably not for many months to come. Community Bug Reporting System
Yes, I should get some more standoff weapons and the 15E should get the better engines at the same time.
Not really. The F-15E currently has good cas/multirole loadouts and meh/bad performance against air, the 15I currently has meh cas/multirole loadouts and great performance against air.
Giving the 15E the better engines would make the 15E great at both, while the 15I would still be mediocre at one of the 2.
I would actually be fine with that. This way both planes have small different strengths and weaknesses. The 15E would be able to mount wing pylon A2A missiles together with 6x 65Ds, while the 15I wouldn’t be able to do so but would have more countermeasures if it wants to do air battles/CAP.
Now those are proportional differences, currently the differences are disproportional.
If the problem is that the players will not grind the F15C and the tree because F15E will be better with 229 engines. Solution: You can only grind F15E if you already have F15C, but you need also own the F111.
But I don’t think that adding the 229 engine makes it so unbalanced. The F15E is heavier.
90% of people support it, so it’s outrageous to me if gajin ignores it.

Making people grind an extra 420,000RP for the C on their road to the E feels more like a major, and frankly unnecessary inconvenience than anything else.
Doesn’t even need to be this complicated :
Give E 229’s.
Give I standoff munitions to compensate for lack of mavs.
Give C priority over E for new AAM variants in future, as and when the game is ready for such things.
Everyone is happy and every line remains worthwhile to grind.
