Alternatives to headphones

Dang they look like cool headphones those mid ones… I’d break them fast but damn they look like a good design.

They’re actually the ATH-R70x (the one’s I’ve got), they’ve been really durable so far and I’ve had them for a little over a year I think. The ATH-AD500X have the same type of headphone mount, they’re a lot cheaper (now, at least) at $79.99 on amazon right now. The open-ear/open-air speakers are probably the best part when it comes to stopping headaches, since there’s no noise cancelling or anything (which for me causes headaches sometimes).

lol that’s what made my eyes water, the price. xD

Yeah, lol. I usually spend a lot on headphones so that they don’t bug me or give me too much sensory overload, and then try to keep them forever.

surround is very buggy in war thunder, the sound directions are way off

I remember one time the sound randomly swiched left to right on me mid-match, made it really confusing.

I am also quite picky regarding headphone comfort.
I can’t stand ordinary leather earpads that are common nowadays for many headphones, some headphones, I tried were very uncomfortable for me (the bridge at the top of the head often caused me significant pain with many headphones I tried). Also clamping force can be lowered by seating heaphones on something wider than your head overnight to loosen them up.
I tried several inear headphones as well, but those weren’t comfortable for me either.

It got to the point where I am very averse to having to change headphones.
The only headphones I can recommend in good conscience are Sennheiser ones with velour cushioning. Those are only ones I can wear for longer periods of time.

Check drop.com for models PC37X and PC38X

There are other brands like AKG or Philips that have some headphones that I found comfortable, but I don’t remember models. Even brands that have some comfortable models can have different uncomorftable ones, so you have to really try it for yourself.

It is best if you are able to visit some shop, where you can try on many models on your head.

Yea, have another go.

I do know that connector is a 3.5mm headset jack.

soundbars can create surround sound but only when the media has dolby atmos, something that war thunder doesn’t have so it will sound like stereo.

You can find a 7.1 surround headset for about $60-100, or a higher end one for $150. If you want “top-notch” studio headphones (which won’t aid much, seeing as it’s a game with a pretty crude mixer instead of studio sound design), it might run you closer to $500-600.

As for headaches, you just need a good pair of headphones. There are some that feel like they’re barely on you, and others that feel snug but still have an adequate amount of padding. It’s all down to personal preference.

You can also go with earbuds! Most won’t support surround sound, but I’ve personally used a somewhat cheap ($50) pair on Escape From Tarkov and they performed quite well.
