Alpine Aviation Tech Tree

Yes, that always bothered me. And I personally don’t think this should be repeated…

I fought a lot to get the Gripen to Switzerland. Didn’t happen, so now I don’t fight at all for getting it to a Swiss tree/subtree in WT.

There are currently no plans to add the Gripen to my Alpine Aviation TT. I think the launch of vehicles like the Swedish AHS or T 80 U should be minimized. Switzerland was not involved in the development of the Gripen and did not introduce or lease it. There is no shortage of 4+ Gen jets in the Alpine TT, so the Gripen will not be added in the future either. Additionally, I am considering adding the Diamond DART series. However, since there is no news about armament yet, it seems difficult for the time being.

neither was sweden in the development of the AHS, T 80 U , MI 28A. Hell the Kingtiger was only used as a practive target that is a worse state then trialed vehicles

There is, they lack CAS capability, the only cas capable plane would be the F 35 after a massive gap
U dont see the slightest problem there in that massive gap? while others get filled trialed vehicles or imaginative ones like the F-16AJ?

And a lot of people complained. Many still don’t think they were good options.

i see it as a free pass now when it fills a gap, screw sweden they shouldnt be the only one. Switzerland/Alpine arguably is in a worst state then sweden

If more “Tested Only” vehicles are added in the future, I will seriously consider adding the Gripen. Thank you for your opinion.

so just gonna leave the giant gap in the tree, when there already are multiple precedents of gajin doing sth to fill this in multiple trees.

I would also like to add in regards to the Gripen is that the only other alternative to the tested Gripens is the ALR Piranha which isn’t ideal either in the eyes of Gaijin since the Piranha’s never passed the mockup stage

To give a TL:DR of the ALR Piranha for people who aren’t aware of it is essentially Switzerland’s attempt to make their analogue to the Gripen being developed Early 1980’s

IIRC there was a scale flying model, but that may still not be good enough for Gaijin. We had tried suggesting the P.1216 some time back, which actually had components built, but they wanted more evidence, which we simply didn’t have because the documents are still classified.

According to the data I have, the Piranha Y4-A has made the most progress in development. The SNECMA Larzac M74-05 engine was selected as the engine for the Y4-A. If the M74-05 engine was produced, the Piranha Y4-A could also appear in War Thunder according to Gaijin’s standards.

All the detailed information about the project should be in this book, but it seems to be very rare…

Where can you buy this book?

Does the swiss F-5E use the an/apg-69 radar? Ive read somewhere that swiss tigers use this radar en lieu of the an/apq-159

+1 as either a subtree or independent

That would be news to me…

While looking up some stuff I found this image online

A PC-9 operated by the Iraqi-Air Force and judging by the image they are armed. It was destroyed on the ground during the first Gulf War
