AIM9M and AIM120b on US radar platforms are useless

I’m playing the FA-18C Late and having the worst time i’ve ever had on top tier. The missiles refuse to track, and because the f-18 is so slow they don’t even have the energy to keep up with the rest of the vehicles. Besides, the aim120s are unable to kill targets as they will mostly tear an aileron off and if you’re lucky, cause a fire that will attract more r73s or magic 2s.

This is the aim9m’s quality, enslaved onto a full afterburning viggen (a plane that is easy to kill head on with an aim9e) and the missile is unable to see either the plane’s heat signature or the flares

And this is an aim9m getting flared by a four CM single pop.

AIM120B’s are unusable in the nature of top tier, because the f-18 sucks at being a true air superiority fighter and snails are faster than it. Not to mention US radars are the easiest to notch and defeat, chaff free literally.

only good toptier amraam platform is eurofighter. and probably that would be for some time
just dont play hornet in air rb

bruh

Chief not gonna lie something does not compute.

Skill issue, plainly. Educate yourself on top tier gameplay.

I don’t think AIM-9E can kill Viggen at head-on.
Even though everyone knows the Viggen fuselage in 13.0BR is overrated, it just can’t happen.

Man, come on, IRCCM gives you flare ‘resistance’, not flare ‘immunity’. For Christ’s sake.
If you fired either R-73 or Magic 2 at the same headon course, you might have got them flared too.

Aim9m’s IRCCM works differently. When it sees a flare, it turns of the seeker for a short time. Its does well in certain situations.

All ARH have the same exact seeker, except the mica i think.

I dont believe the radar of the plane matters unless you are firing from like 30km out.

Blud forgot F-15s, F-16s and Gripens exist. Hornet is very much workable as well. EFT is obv better than the former planes but it doesn’t make those planes obsolete in any way.

Might want to learn how your weapons work before yapping.

9M works by seeker-shutoff , as the name implies , the seeker turns off when it sees a flare , and turning back on where the target should be.

Knowing this, the Aim-9M is very easy to flare if you know what you are doing, especially from the front/rear.

As for the Aim-120… Watch a few tutorials man , complaining on the forum wont make the enemy die to your missiles.
