AIM-120C-5 vs AIM-120A/B

For all intents and purpouses, the aim-120c-5 takes more time to the target, which means it is slower at range, which means it has more practical range.

I am not testing 100km shoots because that’s completely irrelevant.

Now lets say you shoot a target coming hot at 30-40km, the aim120b will have more energy to make the interception.

C-7 is when it gets the new motor right?
so the C-5 is just guidance changes or what?

Its not going to matter when US mains are lawnmowing with 12 120s strapped to them.

Sad to see Typhoon and Gripen neglected

What’re u talking about? Until US gets it rightful advanced eagles it tops out at 10 with the hornet

I meant 10 in the case of the Hornet

I think the C-5 should have better maneuverability off the rail, like it currently does, and also better range.

What jets are receiving the AIM-120C-5?

F/A-18C late (US and Germany), F/A-18C MLU 2 (SWE), F-15E, F-15I

More importantly not the Gripen or Typhoon

that is peculiar to be sure, but an upgrade

range should be higher going from most values

Unrelated but i saw the finnish hornet getting BOL. Would the American one get it as well?

It should since it was tested by USN at same time or before Finnish hornets even arrived

Are you asking if it got it (no it didn’t) or did it get it recently and your asking why I didn’t list it
