AI + IR-Sensitive Camera-Guided Missiles: Why Don’t They Exist?

Because AI would look at a plane with an extra wing

This is false, LLMs are actually a relatively small portion of AIs, which have been massively overhyped recently.

There are many more kinds of AIs, which have been in use since the mid-late 2000s on a public scale. Including but not limited to: Voice recognition, Image recognition, auto-correct, some voice synthasizers, google translate, several ad targetting algorithms, image upscaling, data interpolation. And probably a few more.

Also fun fact: generative AIs (including LLMs and image generation), are actually in a different structural class of neural network to image recognition. LLMs use recursive neural networks with tree algorithms, meanwhile image recognition uses convolutional neural networks.

(Source: studying a CS major, and i have personally built several CNN type AIs)
