Abram's gunshield missing armor (found proof ATTN: Mods)

Current dev server has gun mantlet changes on the base tech tree M1A1
Visually it looks alot better now but in terms of performance if anyone here can report if its correct?
Im honestly not entirely sure in some spots i can see up to a 140mm difference in armor while others it regressed which still feels wrong tbh but im not an expert on this topic

Indeed, the new trunion model is certainly better, however it still misses the intermidiate piece:

the trunion looks like it is in the right place, so i would thus suggest the outer portion of the mantlet needs to be made smaller(shorter in depth) to allow for room of this piece.

have you checked the backside of the trunion block? it looks hollow to me compared to the old one

I wasnt sure if that was correct or not again im not an expert on this topic hence why i posted in here

Oh, that’s good then! Should the holes for the pins be filled though? I don’t quite recall at the moment but i feel like they are on some tanks, could be wrong though :)

i think the rotor rotates on the outer circular section, rather than a pin itself, i may be wrong though. Actually based on the turret cheek shape a bearing pin probably sits within that smaller circle.

i feel like a pin makes sense yeah, does that tend be modeled as armor though? or be part of the trunion model at all?

Do we have any information relating to this part of the mantlet?
Might not even be part of the mantlet but it sits right under it and i notice its now the main trouble spot on the ring after they made the ring volumetric

It looks to me that its solid all the way through on the bottom and is not volumetric either as front on it only provides about 110mm when visually if its solid it looks to be alot more than that

But i know nothing about this part and its possible the real one is hollow on the inside or looks completely different

Welll. welll…

they modelled the second block now

Only on the M1A1 though… lmao
Not even on the new SEP v2 and SEP v3 despite the two receiving the new volumetric areas.

This update is a mess.

Indeed, the M1A1 appears to be the testbed for the new model stuff, so i expect it will trickle down to the others.

I wouldn’t expect anything to be ported to the other M1 tanks unless gaijin is reminded repeatedly with many bug reports.

They already closed a bug report about that, noting they’ll add the armor to other M1s.

Feels bad at least. Can’t put my finger on it but it feels bad.
