Needed what another F-16 and a Alpha Jet?
From an outsider perspective and from someone who has chatted with Jap mains. I would hold concern that this is Japan getting the Gripen this update instead of the F-2.
Perhaps it should have been the Thai tree minus the F-16 and Gripen. Get the native built F-2 instead and had those come as fillers next year.
Would have made a lot more sense as it seem Gaijin passes out F-16, Gripen out like candy to whatever nation is underperforming.
As well as a Harrier (doesn’t perform like it should) and a A7E very original.
Just time to wait for the Ukrainian F-16 and Gripen for the Soviet tree next :D
It is very annoying and with your Sim heavy play style you cannot even use aircraft visual ID to determine if its friendly as every nation has so many of the same plane.
Yeah, in part, that is something that puts me off certain aircraft/BRs in Sim, I just cant be bothered to try and VID friendly X aircraft from foe X aircraft.
Yes I know its an F-4 but is it German, American, British, Israeli, Japanese, ect. lol
Also I don’t think the Ukrainian player base will be too happy about there stuff being with the Russian stuff. I could also be wrong though.
If anyone is listening, please add the Firefly to the new Thai tech tree (either the Mark I or IV, ). Japan is hurting badly for a Rank 3 strike aircraft. The Thai Firefly has a lovely livery and one is preserved in Thailand’s air force museum. Put a Ki-98 at 4.7 and we’ll pretty much solve Japan’s mid tier strike aircraft gap. There are also a lot of potential awesome WWII Thai skins of Japanese planes.
Trust me, F-15J(M) certainly doesn’t underperform in air-to-air. It was just the lack of proper CAS and the emptiness of the TT, lack of variety.
Last time I checked, the nation in-game was called USSR, not Russia.
I might hope gajin could add F-16A Block 15 ADF because AIM-120C AMRAAM capability and IR AAM AIM-9P-4 & AIM-9M-9 but no JHMCS
Now gajin lazy AIM-9P-4 to replace AIM-9L on ROCAF F-16A MLU
Personally, I think F-5T SCU would be 13.3 max
Well, USSR doesn’t need any sub-tree, unlike Japan for example.
And don’t say “Just look at the camo.” People keep saying “Just look at the camo” as a solution to copy-paste
Planes become black silhouettes pretty quickly, and having to face check can and will kill you.
This is the amount of detail visible at ~800 meters or less.
And this is in prop tier combat with relatively slow closure speeds and knife-distance gunfights.
Silhouettes are pretty important.
When did I ever say look at the Camo? I understand this issue and stated that the same aircraft in different nations means you cannot positively ID it. What are you getting at?
You didn’t!
I wrote it in support of your post.
I added it as a “and anyone who says it’s not an issue because it has different camo: just look at these.”
I should’ve been clearer, sorry. I’d thought hearting your post and adding this should be sufficient.
My apologies lol sorry. Yes seeing Camo is not possible lol.
When will the Thai ground sub-tree be added? I really do want a T-84 in game already.
Who says? Gaijin lol.
-
2 years on from Sweden getting a Finnish air tree and not a single unique Finnish aircraft added to the TT line.
-
10 months on from Italy getting a Hungary air tree and not a single unique Hungarian aircraft added to the TT line since.
-
7 months on from France getting Benelux air tree and a copy paste Sea Hawk premium with no unique BeNeLux aircraft added to the TT line.
Don’t act like we have no idea what the future holds when we have a track history of Gaijin just neglecting sub trees for multiple years after the trees were low effort copy paste.
Can’t wait to play, I like Type 90 more than Type 10 lol
I’m more interested in potential helicopters to flesh out the Japanese tech tree.
The big two would be the AH-1F (which would make for a good squadron vehicle) and the AH-6. You’ve also got the option of the Eurocopter Fennec AS550 C3 combined with the AH-6 for a “light attack helicopter” branch of the japanese TT.
There’s also utility helicopters like the UH-60 but I’m not familiar with the Thai Air Force to know if they arm their utility & transport helicopters.
I do understand that notion, but I would assume that they are trying to hold out on the F-2 For as long as they possibly can as besides the F-35 (which is FAR away for obvious reasons) it is THE LAST JET Japan is going to recieve from their own nation, period.
