cool for collectors, Mid as a plane to fly. slow but turns ok
If someone tries to turnfight you, they die. you climb fast, turn instantly and have ok firepower. only drawback is that its a little on the slow side
I regret not picking it up earlier. that engine is extremely powerful for the BR, you can chase down almost anyone, outclimb most and the clipped wings more than make up for being a little heavy as you can jink fighters easily from that roll speed
guns are ok, would prefer the 4x browning .303 and 2x hispano gunload over 2x hispano 2x browning .50 cals but this is a personal preference
its an early spit, you turn perfectly, mid guns and engine overheating all the time.
Its a Typhoon mk1b EARLY its only a three blade prop instead of a four blade prop like its later counterpart so loses some speed, accelleration and subsequent sustained turnrate. but at the same BR, its fine there but should be lower than the TT brother
Hits really hard, turns really hard at low altitude (hammered a japanese fighter in a one circle fight today its nuts)
Looks really nice. Glad to see Douglas Bader representation.
I think I’m most happy about the camouflage. Although I swear these spitfires come out 3 or 4 times a year. Feels like they’ve only recently been on sale
I decided to get it. The reinforced nature of it meant I felt it could tank a hit and being only 2.3, I didnt feel outclassed. In the 3.0 Spits, with the same loadout. I found myself a little undergunned.
yeah, this is the main reason I usually play the Plagis over it. But I really do need to start playing props a lot more. I have fun everytime, but for some reason find myself drawn towards the Tonkas and co most of the time.
take more punishment for a less refined flight. Do think the tropical hurricane is best with the 12 guns however i think id take the 40mm hurricane over all other hurricanes nowadays,
i know youre a simulator man but maybe start hopping into discord calls with me for some realistic mode flights from time to time, would be fun
Havent gotten into prop Sim much yet, its a whole other learning curve, was thinking about starting with the Mossies coming this major and next. Ideally id like some foot rudder pedals to help with managing the yaw, but cant afford them.
ARB, I find kinda stale above about 6.0, with a few minor exceptions like the Tonka GR4
So, definetly down for RB and cleaning house in the Spits in a squad
similar to the 47mm tempest, theres a knack to it which i for some reason kinda figured out.
i get that, unless you have contrarotating props it can be finnicky. may be worth starting with the wyvern or FR47 seafire at first.
agreed, ARB is only fun from 3.0-6.0 and 8.7-11.7 IMO avoid biplanes, second gen jets (other than the fun ones like hunter) and to straight to SRAAM smacking or 9L jousts before peacing out as soon as you see an AIM-120 in the killfeed
looking forward to squadding up. weve got messerschmitts to squish
I think the point is that in game it says you have to “finish the mission on the vehicle”. e.g. If you’re in combined ground, fly a brit plane around and do stuff, get destroyed, go back to being a tank and the game ends, then it reads like you won’t get the points (as you finished the mission in a tank).
The forum post does not mention having to finish the mission in the vehicle. It just says you have to use it.
Hey! Thanks for this, we have changed the operator and flag in the stat card now, the change will come in the Tusk Force major update. The change will also be mentioned in the major changelog.
You missed the point. It’s not about the nation (which is clearly given, as you pointed out), it’s about what kind of vehicles can be used…
The forum description suggests, that only score earned with an aircraft counts towards the task, while the in-game description suggests, that any vehicle counts (air, ground, naval) as long as the last used vehicle in a battle is an aircraft.
Example:
1 battle in ground realistic. Vehicles used:
1x A.C. IV, 1000 points earned
1x Typhoon, 500 points earned
According to the forum description (Earn 10,000 mission points with British aircraft): only 500 points rewarded towards the task
According to the in-game description (Use the vehicle and finish the mission on it): all 1500 points rewarded towards the task
Also note, that the even the 3000 points Decal task requirement is “battles where you have used British aircraft”, so why the camo task requirement is different, suggesting that only points earned with an aircraft count?
Anyway, now I know that the in-game description is true and that, in fact, I don’t even need to score a single point in an aircraft, just have to spawn in one for the last seconds of the battle…
